WHO WANTS MORE CLEAR MAPS?

Post by doogman »

All new maps are nearly impossible to see and understand. I would actually play on them if I could see the borders and understand how the map works. I am personally very interested in the new maps, and would enjoy playing on them; however, I will not play on a map that is not immediately seen well. The classic map is clear. World 2.0 is clear. Circus Maximus is clear. I understand that good graphics are somewhat important, but i believe making clearer, more readable lines is more vital to the map. In the future, please clean up the maps. I like the new rules for each map. That is not the issue. Please make the lines more defined. Thx for reading.

Are there any other maps with well-defined line that you can think of?

Is there anyone eles that thinks the same?

I disagree with you - there are a number of unclear anomolies with the Classic map that your blinkeredness has missed - hence why there is a touch-up for the Classic underway...

All of the new maps are run past a lot of people in the foundry for "Clearness" issues... and if they hadn't passed them - then they wouldn't have been quenched...

If you feel that you can contribute to this process then head yourself to the Foundry... Image

Are you kidding me?? New maps are the best. If you just tried to understand them, you would love them too. I personally hate classic, and world 2.0, and the new maps bring the spice back into the game.

And I am the other extreme, I love Classic, And rarely play new maps. I may be sad with the revamp of classic... i am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it."

The operative word(s) is "Touch Up" not "Revamp"...

i find that if you just take a moment and look at the legend, and give pause before your first moves or deployment, it can become pretty clear. most of the new maps generally take minimum 2 plays to "get". however, i play mostly team games, and with 2 of us deciphering it, it may speed up the process...-0

I do agree with you there some of them are a little confusing at first but once you have read it throughly you get the hang of it and they are great fun as the graphics on newer maps are great. But i still find Waterloo confusing. :?

if any of the new maps seem ungly confusing or just plain wrong just click the pussy in my sig and you'll be directed to the foundry where you can see all maps in development and state your opinion. map makers rely on the community to give feedback and make the maps better.

I think what is important here is that many in CC it seems would like more simplistic maps, with that said, i think some complex ones can be created too, but a lot want more basics maps if I understand this correctly.

Now, who wants to make me a las vegas casino map

and incandenza i am sure will post

our beloved map makers make maps for themselfs, themes and gameplay they would enjoy. So essentially what people want isnt what cartographers are intrested in. :)

very true gimil.

please see this thread

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 2A+maps%2A

which went over most of the same crap. on a plus note, i think a lot of good came out of it and a the foundry is probably a better place on the back of it. any of the regulars in there agree?

maybe just admit you have bad eyesight? lol the new maps are nice and crisp and have very clearly defined lines.

seriously though, take 5 minutes and just READ the legend on a map, they are self explanatory and if you think on it it will click in your head "oh i see!"

Maps with to many bonusses and to many rules have nothing to do with tactics.

Get a good drop and you have won.

I agree. I had a tourney game on Pearl Harbor and got the 2nd turn in a 2 player game. 1st turn player got a bonus of 20 men to start and when I got my first turn i had i think 8. Needless to say I lost the game real quickly.

I would enjoy the tricky new maps and am not complaining about the new rules. They make the game more fun. in fact, i left this post after looking at waterloo. i would have joined the game if the lines were more distinct. no, i dont have bad vision. THE NEW RULES ARE GREAT!!!!!!!! i wasn't referring to them, just the lines and borders.

Thx for the comments. Keep responding.
