Surely you're not telling me that i have produced a map that has beaten Mr Unbeatable...LOL
Common on man....read the legend and look at the map and decipher what and where you can attack, and if you use the artillery correctly, you can almost wipe out one side of the map on a good turn of die. Ask Yeti_c, he was one of my victims.

Thoroughly disagree...you've obviously had some bad experiences.....but if you like, i'll get DiM to wave his magic wand from Age of Realms and try to perk things up for you a bit.

I agree. I had a tourney game on Pearl Harbor and got the 2nd turn in a 2 player game. 1st turn player got a bonus of 20 men to start and when I got my first turn i had i think 8. Needless to say I lost the game real quickly.
qtt...but have all your PH games been like this!??? :?:

doogman wrote:I would enjoy the tricky new maps and am not complaining about the new rules. They make the game more fun. in fact, i left this post after looking at waterloo. i would have joined the game if the lines were more distinct. no, i dont have bad vision. THE NEW RULES ARE GREAT!!!!!!!! i wasn't referring to them, just the lines and borders.

Thx for the comments. Keep responding.
OK...I am not taking this as an attack on my map making...but which borders are you refering to and what don't you understand?? Also, why didn't you8 post this in the map foundry thread for this map??

The most confusing maps IMO are the age of realms maps (no offense, DiM!)
I understand all the bonuses/borders, but it's the strategy that gets me. I just can't get how to win at those...

[Nazi raid]

I would like to note that there is a difference between these two questions:

"Who wants more clear maps?"

and

"Who wants clearer maps?"

I think you mean the second, in which case I'm here to correct you.

The problem with simple maps is that we are running out of places to do. I mean, unless we are looking at making a map of every single country and region in the world.

It has gotten to the point that people are actually redoing regions, or seriously considering making another version of classic with just 6 more territories. Someone is working on another Europe. There is one map that is simply a medieval version of the British Isles map.

It isn't surprising that most of the map makers have gone towards making more complex things just because the amount of material is running dry and they don't wish to do slightly altered versions of the stuff we already have.

Of course, we could always just blame Jota, the pioneer of nonstandard maps. Without him I doubt we'd have any of the stuff most people find so confusing they want it off the site. My opinion though, is that nonstandard maps are a positive aspect of the site.

There are plenty of maps for everybody. We just quenched another standard map and yet another is on the way before your next nonstandard map comes.

there's tons of places to do

Mexico (being done), Central America, Scandinavia (being done again I think?), India (vacation/abandoned), New Zealand, Indonesia/South East Asia, Indian Ocean based map, Counties, Provinces, States, and Countries abound!

I don't think EVERY country is good for a map, but there are plenty of regions and countries not represented on CC yet.

First writes;

Tamriel & Middle earth are great maps, without to many rules and bonusses. A map does not have to be to confusing.

Pretty sure some of you fine mapmakers can think of some other 'non' real maps.

Ps, i personally don't care what maps there are , if i don't like um i don't play um. But lately the bonusses and rules get out of hand.

doogman wrote:All new maps are nearly impossible to see and understand. I would actually play on them if I could see the borders and understand how the map works. I am personally very interested in the new maps, and would enjoy playing on them; however, I will not play on a map that is not immediately seen well. The classic map is clear. World 2.0 is clear. Circus Maximus is clear. I understand that good graphics are somewhat important, but i believe making clearer, more readable lines is more vital to the map. In the future, please clean up the maps. I like the new rules for each map. That is not the issue. Please make the lines more defined. Thx for reading.

Are there any other maps with well-defined line that you can think of?

Is there anyone eles that thinks the same?
Oh yeah I think the same all right. So do what I do: stick to your favourites and avoid Waterloo (etc.) like the plague! 8)

thank you, how could you disagree with clearer maps? im confused. i would think everyone wants clearer maps. but there must be some out there that enjoys not knowing where you can attack from. maybe taking advantage of those who have trouble? ????
