Classic map

Post by Lupo »

I was wondering why in the classic map there isn't a graphical link between Argentina and Eastern Australia.

P.S.: Is there someone that could teach me how to use BBCode, please?
For example, how can I insert images in the messages? What's wrong in the following code?

Thanks!

Maybe, I didn't get very well the first part of your answer, but also Brazil and North Africa do not border....

I wish we could have a truly classic map: no Middle East connection.

Yeah thats a tough choice. With that connection I think Africa is one of the worst continents and without it Africa is possibly the best.

Being a experienced Risk player my gameplay hinges on that connection not being there. But along with the other rule changes I 'spose I'll just have to practice!

Good to see im not the only one annoyed by the east africa - middle east connection.

we need to petition them to change it to the way it is supposed to be

It's a strange one when it comes to Risk boards though. Some have it some don't, I have never seen the 1957 french original, I wonder if it has it.

Actually, I just took a look at my board (2003) and it has the connection. So now i am unsure if the connection should be removed or not. Wich boards have the connection and wich boards do not have it?

My board, which does not have the connection is the 40th anniversary edition from 1997

I'm unsure. I think it varys like the rules. Different editions in different countries, I'll have to do some research into the '57 edition.

If they did change it, they changed it back. The 2003 version has the connection.

I prefer the game without. I play the one player on the PS2 version all the time and that does not have it. Also the PC version RiskII makes having the connection an extra option. It does make the game a LOT easier to win though.

With the connection there, it is next to impossible to start out by controlling Africa and expand from there.
