Why is it so far from the flag?cairnswk wrote:Oh Gimil...has it been a late night for you? LOL. Or a long day?gimil wrote:sorry to be so dense, but what cauldron?cairnswk wrote:At the bottom of the Cauldron.gimil wrote:Wait where does the free french army go?
There is an area near that French tert name that is marked "The Cauldron". Almost middle of the map.

So the writing doesn't overlap the mines and it is clearly visible,,,i guess if one thinks about it, it is the only place it could be?gimil wrote:Why is it so far from the flag?cairnswk wrote:Oh Gimil...has it been a late night for you? Made cleareroaktown wrote:alright, I have finally poured over this map, and I have no complaints with how it is going to play. In fact I think it's going to be a blast trying to figure it how to win it.
I do, however, have some concerns about the clarity of attack lines. For example:
• Does SA 3/1 hit GL6? I don't think it does, but there's a stray line there
They border and i think that is quite clear regardless of whether this map attacks along roads.• Does SA 1/1 hit SL4? It looks like they touch, which would suggest an attack route in any map but this one, in which attack routes are along roads.
Yes i think that one is also quite clear. There is no line It 27 to GL6• Does Italain 27 hit both GL6 and GL7? It seems to link up to the road which would suggest it hits both, yet the road from it leads toward GL7.
Fixed. This last one is especially troublesome because it is a unique case of two types of lines connecting. My guess is that where the Axis tank roads cross over the allied roads they don't create splinter attack routes, eg. G can't hit the Italian 3rd brigade. Yet in the last instance above the two types of roads do, indeed, merge, right?
Fixed. Also, since bisecting roads aren't intended to create new attack routes, it wouldn't hurt to make it clear that roads that that hit territories are indeed meant to be attack routes, and not pass under. It couldn't hurt to scoot the road from Airfield Bir El Gobi to Ind. 27th down a bit to make it clear that it actually passes through - not under - Bir El Gobi.

Ogrecrusher...i thanka you for coming into this thread to comment.Ogrecrusher wrote:Something that looks odd and may be an artifact of resizing.
The Free French Flag, the red bit in the middle:
On the small map legend it looks like a cross with a double horizontal bar.
On the small map play area it looks like a letter F.
On the large map legend it looks similar to an F, but not quite.
On the large map play area it looks like a cross!
All 4 "red bits" look different from each other.
Edit: And now I look at it, the British flag is horrendously assymetric, most noticable in the legend.
Edit 2: On the one way attack tank paths, I think it would look better if the double lines faded into the arrow rather than the arrow being placed on top. It makes some of the arrows look wiggley and weird.
