friends of mine perished on 9/11 though, if that helps explain things.

i have a bit of a temper about the 9/11 thing. especially towards those who claim it was an inside job, or say that we deserved it.

i actually got in a knock down drag out fist fight with a french guy about a week after 9/11 happened. when he told me we deserved it. i was told i could never go back to that bar again, but the owner told me he was sorry to do it, and covered my bar tab, considering the cause of the disturbance.

i'm sure you can understand.

as i'm sure you understand that i understand about the flame wars thing. i shouldn't have even responded.

and here's another thing to consider -- gonna drop a little knowledge on you:

no one actually wins a fist fight. one person is just less bloodied than the other. it's not like in the movies, either.

so yeah, i got beat up a little bit. i carried visible reminders of the fight for a week or two afterwards. but i was the only one left conscious when our scuffle was finally broken up, and i kept all of my teeth. oh, and i didn't have as badly a broken nose as he did. so whatever that means...

i was banned from that bar. in some ways, that makes me the loser of the fight. i assume he was banned too, but i liked that joint.
