Second: Kosovars aren't Turks. You have ortodox and even catholic Kosovars. They are ethnic Albanians and Albanians are indo-europeans descendants of old Illyrian tribes. You even have a few villages in Kosovo that are populated by Croats (Janjevci).

I can't give you a better answer than I think it's their natural right. If you ask me any nation (big group of people that occupies some territory and is in majority on that territory) could declare independence from it's former country if they think that country isn't supporting their nation the way it should. So Free Basks! Free Scots! Free Corsica! Free Serbian parts of Bosnia (if that's really what they want).

When Montenegro was declaring independence from Serbia only 56% of the population voted for independence and it was no problem for Sebia or international community (All EU, America, Russia, et cetera). Now when 90% of Kosovan population wants their state Serbia (and Russia, Spain...) says NO!

lol that didn't happen two days ago when they proclaimed their independence. It started centuries ago and finished after WWII when Yugoslavia was so paranoid that they perceived Albanians as one of their greatest enemies so they closed the borders with barbed wire and started (again, after short intermezzo of WWII) killing Kosovars as Albanian spies.
Kosovo is a rough land with almost no natural resources. But it has a plenty of room to Serbs and Kosovars peacefully coexist.

Most Kosovars settled the land centuries ago. How about we take all immigrants and their families that came to France in the last couple centuries? So send family Sarkozy back first, they are not welcome to France! Now Nicky is married for some Italian chick? Blasphemy!

The only way for a peace is to leave Kosovo and Metohija to it's rightfull owners,the ones whose blood is spilled for that ground.

well from the few stories i have read about the issue....and ill admit i know far less about serbia and kosovo in general than i could, in the area we are talking about the numbers are something like 90-10 in kosovars to ethnic serbs.

That seems like the type of thing where if you felt like you werent being represented correctly, you should stand up and try to get a different representation.

Now those stats of course could be incorrect or mislabeled, but apartaid ran on similar numbers and reorganizing the gov. there seemed to be a pretty decent idea.

And what's a US American? Quite often someone whose grandparents or even parents emigrated from some other country, I hear one of them wants to run for president. Basing a country solely on ethnicity does not work, I doubt there's any country larger than Andorra with less than two ethnic groups.
And "history"? milosel, historically speaking anyone whose ancestors moved to America less than 516 years ago should move out again because they're not really Americans.
