However, I've also located an article which questions Obama's loyalties and demonstrates that this thread is not just some random piece of verbage, and that the media is now gearing up to confront many of the same issues that have been brought up here.

The entire doctrine of, what is now, your church, makes a mockery of the fight against segregation and The Civil Rights movement in general.

I also noted that the Rev. Jeremy Wright is retiring. Hmmmm.... the timing might suggest that, with the Office of President at stake, perhaps seperating himself from Rev. Wright may serve to benefit Obama's campaign, as the clips I viewed left no room for doubt as to where the "Good Reverend" placed the blame for everything that afflicts the Black Community.

I've still not been given an answer: Christian or Muslim? If he is a Muslim (or, somehow, both a Christian and a Muslim) then any claim surrounding his Church whatsoever is completely by the by. If the core of his religion is a sham then why the hell should any pledge his church makes have anything to do with anything? Ah, the "true Christian" argument, "He's not what I think a Christian is, therefore he's not a true Christian", sorry pal, but your definition of who is and who isn't a Christian is not the accepted standard. I'm not sure how many distinguishable Christian groups there are, but I'm fairly certain they number in the dozens, probably in the hundreds. They can hold to very different tenets and yet they all manage to be christian.


Your suggestions about Obama's loyalties would have come across as a lot more sensible if you had been actually been able to back them up with anything even remotely resembling evidence. Then we could have had a discussion on the basis of that evidence, brought up counter-evidence, counter-counter-evidence, discussed the logical conclusions that follow from the evidence and so forth.
You posted a quote from the website of the church he subscribes to, the first post already pointed out, admittedly in a rather ironic way, that a person doesn't only hold to the beliefs of their church (Thank the Global Standard Deity for that! Read Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next novels if you don't get the reference). Then you bring up that old nonsense story about him not placing his hand over his heart at the Pledge and so forth, within 6 posts Guiscard kindly pointed you in the general direction of Snopes, which you and everyone else in the "I don't like Obama and what he does"-camp ignored throughout the thread. Really, it's beyond me how you can expect anyone to take you seriously under those circumstances and how you can hope to become subject to anything other than scorn.
