Permaban

Post by wrestler1ump »

Once the permaban button is pushed, is it even possible to un-permaban the person? It seems as though everybody wants Norse and Tabasco unbanned, but I doubt that can actually be done.

I don't think they could lift it... It is a PERMA (as in PERMANENT) ban

Given that Norse's account still exists in the system, I'm going to have a punt on "no, it's not strictly permanent and he could be reactivated, Twill willing". I would put good money on the theory that a permaban is just a temp-ban without an expiry date, and as such can be lifted at any point.

Neither person was "permabanned" they just received a perma-ban from the forums.

I've fooled with phpBB forums before and judging by my free websites- yes you can un-ban them. There is like a little section with banned people. IN fact, the temporary bans are actually permanent that the mods just un-ban. Sometimes Wicked forgets and they go for too long.

Permaban can be reversed. But the ones mentioned won't be.

Incorrect, Norse is in fact banned from all CC. And a damn shame it is too.

Norse was originally just permaband from the forums, not the rest of the site. His subsequent attempts to come back into the forums with multiple accounts led to his permaban from the rest of the site.

That would necessitate me acting like a mature adult, and not using you as a scapegoat. Not going to happen.

I am glad to see the mods cracking down on abuse such as what Norse and tabasco did. If we are going to play by the majority rules, you can count me as one person who goes against the majority and says keep Norse banned. Not that any of us are going to have an impact anyways.

well, I miss Norse. At least he was trolling with style, unlike the newbies.
