well thanks for the feedback. i understand why people own guns but for me the only reason i would own one (if i was in america) would b to protect myself from the 'wack jobs' with guns and koolbak so aptly put it.

Since when has the US military attacked "nice people"? To say "I own a gun to protct people from OUR country" is odd. I'd like to see him or anyone else take up arms against the US military while they are in another part of the world "killing nice people". If this was the case, we might think of a revolution in this country. If the US went to England for example and started ramdomly killing the British, yeah its then time to take our country back.

You're the one who assumed that he wanted to protect the terrorists from the US. You ignored the second reason he owned a gun:

"To protect my country from mean evil people around the world."

The third statement is irrelevant to your current ramblings.

i own guns and i dont think there's an age limit for being able to posses a firearm...well maybe for actually buying and having legal ownership of a gun there are laws but not for using and possesing one

Iran-Contra springs to mind, Vietnam, Korea.

All examples of our government attacking non-threatening countries because of communism. When something is non-threatening, doesn't that make them nice?

May 4, 1970. National Guard soldiers fired into a crowd of protestors at Kent State University due to the soldiers thinking, incorrectly, that martial law had been declared. The soldiers made no effort to check their orders before the events of that day and faced no criminal punishment for their actions. 4 were killed, at least 9 were wounded.

it is. in fact it has almost moved away entirely from the main point of the thread

as for the other options i edited first post coz i meant to add a just don't hav 1 option. as i said in the edit just use the under age option.

to throw something else into the pot; how come canadians are allowed to own guns and on average gun related deaths are so much lower (hundreds of times lower)

Veitnam was to stop the spread of communism...more specifically to prevent Communist N. Veitnam from takeing S. Veitnam.

Korea was to prevent a dictator from doing the same thing in a different place.

The Kent State massacre would fall under "protect ourselves from our govornment" which I absolutly agree with.

The other examples you listed also fall short of "protect nice people of the world from our govornment"
