I love the concept of the freestyle mode, quick round turn arounds compared to sequential. However it has quite a big downside in that the play order can make a big difference - certainly seems to favour the person sitting ready for his turn. This becomes even more so in the later game where literally the person getting in their first can be the difference between winning and loosing a game.
The trouble is I can't think of a better way of doing it - for the moment i've pretty much transferred my game style to sequential - but their has to be a way of incoporating fast turn around with a fairer style. Some thoughts:
* Allow a turn to be reopened/continued right to the point where the final player ends his turn - at that point the new turn is generated
* Only allow one player to play at a time - so its open to all, but as soon as one player is in all others are closed until he has completed the turn.
* How about putting more restriction on the first person, so if he was first last time he can't be first the next time
I also think that the last person has the disadavantage - except very early on so then stopping them being first the next - whilst understandable does mean they get hit a second time. Maybe an hour restriction before they can join and then if noone else has joined allow them to start.
It's only thoughts - not even sure their is a solution

Now you are getting into areas where it becomes hard to code... once there are only two people left, the person who went first last time has to be the one to go first this time since the person who ends a round can't start a round.
I like freestyle the way it is. The only change that I can see that would solve any problems is when it gets down to 2 players the game turns into sequential. that would keep one player from freezing out the other player by waiting almost 24 hours to play.
Ya, its quite unfair, I was playing someone who did it to me and i lost a lot of ground (Call him player 2.)
Order Me
player 1
player 2
new round (player 2 is sitting at game)
player 1 starts,
player 2 starts 1 second later.
This gives player 2 the advantage by not letting others get the chance to reclaim territory and prevent the players bonus. Meaning in sequential , after player 2 conquers , say asia, player 1 might attack one country thus negating the bonus. But here player 2 gets to deploy before player 1 can attack...
