They really fought in the Crusadeds.

Yes, but the Teutonic order, who used the white field with a black cross (the tabards worn by the assassins), formed in 1192.

I know all about the Tuetonic Knights. They were Crusading in central
Europe killing everyone that didn't agree with them. They fought at the Battle of Tannenberg. They were from the Holy Roman Empire. The first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire was Otto the Great (Otto I).

I clicked yes, wondering why someone would even be asking the question whether they should watch 1,000,000 years BC, from 1966 with that most lovely Raquel Welch....then saw what I had done.

Sorry....Senior moment there.

I would just like to say that your last Line "I'm the wisest man alive" Isn't true.

The wisest man never talks about his intelect.
Soz for saying so.

I don't know if I should watch the film because, my friend says I should but I saw a bit of the trailer and it looked quite bad. Because the director's older film "Independence Day" was really good I don't know if I should give it a chance.
But I thought that the film wold be like "Quest for Fire" But it's the opposite though. So I dunno. I thought that maybe you guys would tell me if it's good.

Thx Luke

Ignore what I said just then. Sorry I was mistaken when I said the thing about wisest man on earth. I realised it was a joke when I read the end.

From the director of Independence Day (meh) and Day After Tomorrow (big flashing red light).

Worst of all, apparently they spoke english 12,000 years ago, exactly the same as we do today.

like many people, it seemed interesting until i watched the trailer. so, if it's going to be a huge battle of some sort with now-extinct animals, there's really no need for a plot, is there? i also wondered about the dialogue, it being 10,000 BC, but..as you say, static, they actually do speak english in the movie?!

How many movies do you watch that are historically, culturally, or realistically accurate?

Zero is the answer.

Watch the movie for what it is... enjoyment.

I've watched Kingdom of Heaven twice. The first time I pissed off my partner throughout by pointing out intricacies like the fact that Legless is attacked by Assassins wearing the costume of a Knightly order which didn't exist for another few decades, the completely inverted portrayal of Sybella, the bizarre way in which he apparently knighted the every man in Jerusalem etc. etc.

And the second time I just watched it as entertainment.

And it was still shit.

I would call you a nerd, but I noticed that too

this sounded really good but the trailer kinda didn't appeal. IF a tralier shows no indication of a plotline there probably won't be one

I am a nerd! And I have connections within my local movie company to let me view these things for free, so I will definitely see it. I'm going in with low hopes and wishing to be pleasantly surprised.
