Chat in Team Games

Post by Freetymes »

What are the thoughts on making chat in team games default to "Only team mates can see" and make it so you have to check a box if you want all to see your post???

It seems that most of what you have to say is just for your partners anyway and this would stop idiots like me from forgetting to check that stupid little box and giving away plans!

Sorry Andy... I did look back a page or two but I must have missed it.

Although I am not "trying" to look smart or otherwise (were you?), it was as much a rant at the time cause I F'ed up...

why don't you run a poll?

i personally prefer leaving it unchecked, but if the results are overwhelming i'll change it.

I was a major back when 1600 was major. Now that I'm back, I get to easily win a bunch of games to get my rank. Thank the 'tards here who suck at this game.

I voted yes. If you forget to remove checked, you can post again, is something to all players anyway, so no problem. If is something to your team, and you forget to put it checked, well this is a problem...

Oh, it was already there IIRC. And I don't think that's possible with phpBB2. I might be wrong. Sue me. Repeatedly.

Ya just gotta be clever when you accidently forget to click that little box. Here is a real example:

jay_a2j [team]: hey, I have a trade for 6 + 4 bonus + 3 starting men= 20. If I put them on st.petersburg
2006-08-23 23:22:20 - jay_a2j: I might be able to tale out julia.
2006-08-23 23:22:49 - jay_a2j [team]: damn that little box
2006-08-23 23:24:24 - jay_a2j: are you free for diner julia?
2006-08-25 05:38:00 - Julia Gulia: tomorrow
2006-08-25 13:33:56 - joesdad: gg Lou
2006-08-25 17:01:36 - jay_a2j: gg Lou . Pick you up at 8 Julia : )

THE DEBATE IS OVER...
