How do you like the new rankings?

I tend more towrads my first option.

i liked the older ones. it was something to strive for. like i wanted to get to lieutenant which was 1800 points back then, and i would have felt accomplished.. now its just bastardized. i should still be corporal 1st class

it's terrible-- the only rank they should've changed was General. imo-- i would've liked to seen it changed to 4K instead of the prior 4200.

looks like brigadeer is the new colonel rank to aspire to. and general is the new elite of elite
isnt field marshall 4500?
we should see that sooner then

he could have at least added a "lieutenant general" or "major general rank" at the 4000 mark and leave field marshall at 5000. Now there are 32 people at Brigadier or higher.

I don't like how he bumped down the higher ranks. He could have just added a master sergeant class down lower instead.

I voted that I liked the old ones better, but it was sort of a knee-jerk reaction. It'll be awkward settling into the new system but eventually it will start to make sense.

Still don't know why Field Marshall is so high, though.

I still think they should have added another ranking and had Field Marshall at 5000 or higher. Since deadbeats add points to the system that never leave as every point won must be lost from someone else, thereby infusing a constant stream of extra points into the system, as time goes on, it will get easier and easier to get higher rankings. They should be making it harder, not easier to get the top rankings.

There's a certain sence of accomplishment that comes with finally achieving a new rank
that is lost by lowering the bar. Like using a bigger net for the Stanley Cup to improve
scoring opportunities... it's just not the same.

It is marketing. New players that advance in ranks quickly are more likely to stay.

I really don't mind much either way. The top ranks are now more acheivable which is perhaps not such a bad thing. Anyway, once we get an overload of brigadiers I'm sure it will be shifted up again

the idea is good in theory. new people advancing quicker in ranks = happy customers.
BUT (a big but) it was implemented horribly. i used to be proud to have achieved a rank of major and one of my goals was to be a colonel. now every former major is a colonel. and not only were all ranks cheapened by the inflation now they're even more cheapened by this measure. so the new ranks suck.

what should have been done was the introduction of a few intermediary ranks. this allows new players to advance quicker and it also keeps the old ranks in place so that we can still have the same goals.

I have to agree with DiM here. I recently demoted to captain, but now im major again without doing anything

Maybe it's still the same, but now you have to aim for a rank higher, i dont know...

But, adding a few ranks in between, while letting the "usual" ranks stay, or even raise a bit with 100 pts wouldve been better, imho.

I think the rank adjustment was needed. The Captains were too lopsided and the 200pt gap for LT was too narrow. It also hearkens back to the original system where Colonel was 2000 and was the mark to strive for. I also consider it just a delay for the majority of the "higher ranked" on Conquer Club ... it'll just force more triples games where the new players donate their 10pts and life goes on.

Who in their right mind would do this purposfully? The only change to ranks that should ever be made is to make them harder to get (to counter point inflation). This is horrible. I hope they fix the ranks soon.

I think it was stupid with there being 30 colonels and all, but lowering the ranks wont change it.

Some good ideas there but the 1000 point gap between lieutenant colonel and colonel is too high... especially when there are only 500 point gaps between colonel, brigadier and general!

In terms of general thoughts, I guess at the end of the day it's just a symbol by your name... I suppose I liked the old ones, but I remember when they changed last year I preferred the original ones - so I guess it takes a few weeks to get used to and then everyone forgets the old ones ever existed

But I must say it would have made more sense to shift the rankings upwards rather than downwards, particularly with point inflation going crazy recently and record numbers of colonels/majors/captains etc. But point targets are still the same and if you're someone who wants to climb the scoreboard just aim for brigadier instead of colonel, or general instead of brigadier instead, not too hard of a shift once you get used to it

I've worked really hard over the last few weeks to secure lieutenant status to now shoot up to captain,it feels hollow and fake;and now the elusive diamond feels somewhat cheapened.
