Feedback Moderation.

Post by VTRepublic »

I must say that overall I'm quite disappointed with the feedback moderation that takes place on this website.

For everyones review, the feedback guidelines are here:

http://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?m ... tructions5

What I'm trying to figure out is why the moderators take so much liberty in deciding what is factual? One of my negative feedbacks claims that I suicided. The other claims I handed a game to the other team.

If you look at the handing the game to the other team, it was actually that person that destroyed my ability to win the game, and the game was over long before I "handed it over". I can understand him destroying my ability to win the game, after all that's the point of the game! The object, as far as I can see it, is to defeat other players, and set yourself up to win!

Now the player that claims I suicided....I attempted to defeat him with my larger army, had some bad rolls, and he claims I suicided. He's essentially arguing my position from the first argument.

When I leave feedback for them, it gets deleted claiming it wasn't factual. When they leave it for me, it sticks. The moderation, read censorship, of feedback here is really quite unfortunate. I can understand if there is something overtly malicious, but my feedback of these two incidents was neither.

I don't really think I'm whining. I'm trying to understand the system a little better.

My impression is that these internet nerds with the feedback of 130-0 are all about who you know. I'm looking for a point of clarification. I could give two shits about the number. I do care about censorship.

so wait... because i have never gotten a negative, i am a nerd? i have never filed an e-ticket to have a feedback removed, and i have never received a negative feedback. i think that makes me a fun player to roll the bones against. i don't give up, and i'm gracious in defeat. i don't leave crap negatives out of spite, and i don't have anyone on ignore. i don't understand how my having zero negs somehow means that i know someone. i am far from 130-0, but i'm close to 80-0... you just lost me on this one...-0

I'm not saying everyone with flawless feedback is an internet nerd. I'm saying the idiots that posted up negative feedback on me seem to be exploiting the system. [-o<

lol, i love the one that you made that was nothing but direct quotes from game chat, and was deleted for being non-factual, lol. thats kinda funny. but that is just mislabeled, should have been deleted for other reasons im sure.

the trick is, that people that leave stupid feedbacks for people, get stupid feedbacks from people that like to leave stupid feedbacks.

so dont leave people feedbacks unless they do something really really really dumb.

That's because a great deal of you have taken to leaving feedback basically just because you lost and want to blame the other person. Yes they're in the game with you, ergo they may cause you to lose! Get over it!

People are leaving feedback for the stupidest reasons, but if it's game-related technically it's supposed to stay. But some are so stupid, I just want to write back, "you're leaving feedback for THAT? get over it!" It's gotten completely out of control. It's hard to tell who suicided whom or who did what in a game. But if we say "hey work it out yourselves because we can't clearly tell" then we hear all sorts of whining. So we're stuck. Which is why we're discussing changes to the system now.

In the meantime, stop leaving feedback just because you lost the game!!! And realize a 3rd party can't always tell what happened in the game, and we hear conflicting reports from both sides. So if we throw our hands up and say work it out yourselves, give us a break ok?

And for the record, a reasonable person doesn't consider coming up a few armies short because of subpar dice to be suiciding. (That's not directed at anyone in particular.)

I couldn't agree more sir! The whole point of my argument is... certain people have their feedback moderated, or removed, while people like me have the ridiculously silly feedback stick!

Feedback is best done in moderation... as there is no shortage of stoopid negs out there. Hard to believe a flippant lipped dude like shooter hasn't been fragged by disgruntled opposition yet. My first neg was given to me by the lame foul mouthed half of a cheating pair and my second came from someone I eliminated first from what became a very long game. He claimed I "wasn't a good team player" even though it was a multiplayer solo contest and he insisted on deploying all his armies on a single territory parked next to me. I've played with someone who received a neg for "saying stupid stuff in the game chat," which is actually the only reason I joined his game in the first place... as I get bored with all the mute warriors around here.

King Achilles

Hi VTRepublic,

Checking the game log, after you attacked LFAW, you got weak that you were no longer much of a factor that red just swept you. The game was even a Fog of war and you told LFAW's position. There was no clear truce between you and red. We shall let the feedback stand.
I received that in my email after I submitted a ticket to have the feedback removed. If you review the game...it is quite clear that red and I truced. He asked me to stop attacking him! I did! LFAW was the one calling out positions in the beginning of the game....and that was not an issue in the negative feedback.

As far as attacking LFAW....well yes...after an attack you normally are quite vulnerable....but how is that a suicide?! I can't control how the rolls are going to come out! When there are three players left... and you are allowing most of it to luck of the dice....don't you have to allow for some chance? That is most definitely NOT suicide...it's called taking a chance at bettering your position! If I had done nothing....one or the other of them would have attacked me and wiped me out....it was a lose/lose situation....and I get non-factual negative feedback that stands for it, while his gets deleted! Incredible!

King Achilles....you are incredibly naive if you think this was a fair assessment of the situation.

Kind of like you discussed a forum upgrade for 8 months before it actually became a reality? Hopefully this isn't one of those wait over half a year for this proposal to occur. People want results.

Nope, not like that. We weren't inventing new software, just waiting for it. but don't expect anything quickly either.

This is the only negative feedback I have ever gotten:
poor player and an owful loser, cannot admit a better played game even when the difference is obvious ... i would never play such a charcter in a standard game
Tell me how this has anything to do with game play?
My self esteem is high enough, that I don't have to post stats here ;)
