1. Is the name 'White-Pride' Racist? Or is it a hapless coincidence?
2. If the name is a coincidence - is it too associated with the white supremacy movement to be allowed - becasue the term 'White-Pride' is featured as part of the flag for teh white supremacy movement - and that is considered racist?
3. Does CC Care if someone uses a moto - tome or slogan of any hate group? Wheter it be knowingly or unkowingly?

I, for one, would hardly consider CC as a nanny state if they told dude he needed to change that name. I agree with you completely. Nothing wrong with being proud of who you are but, as you said, the association that phrase has with some pretty fucked up people is a bit too much to overlook.
I can assure you, were I to find myself in a game with that person, I'd call them on it.
Only on Conquer Club would such a discussion turn into an argument so fast... about the caps lock button. Un-fucking-believable.

Like I said- DA. I'm not fond of the name "white pride" but unless I know the connotation in which the person named himself (like if I click on his profile and he has a dude in a white hood) I'm not going to start yelling at him. I've seen names (like spearchuckers - which I deem offensive) that are far worse (to me). Could there be some other meaning for this guy calling himself that? Possibly... Am I going to start with him because of it? No. Would I if he started spewing hatred related to his name - more than likely.
Out of curiosity - has anyone PM'ed this person concerning his/her motives? Instead of having this discussion discluding this person wouldn't be good to get him/her involved and end the controversy?

Racism, or any other form of bigotry is not permitted here. Just have a look at our guidelines and you'll see that. We don't check and approve every single username before it's activated, but we do ask people to change it if they pick something offensiveonce it's brought to our attention. So don't slam CC, when it's clear from our policies and actions that racism most certainly isn't allowed.

I am not slamming CC - I was having the discussin in the other thread - and everyone who was posting there, was so caught up in defending the use of the term. It made me question the conviction of the guidelines - that is why I posted here. Asking the questions were not a slam -

Apologies if I misunderstood your intent. However, we take our anti-bigotry stance as serious as we take anything here, so questioning that was seen as a slam. Some people erroneously assume we somehow "allow" those offensive usernames, when in fact we just haven't seen them yet, or are already working with the person to change it.

Oh my god is that a tired freaking argument. Us white guys are so shit on. Other races and sexes get to put pride after their name and all we get is control of the world. What a freaking crappy deal that is.

Except if it is about Catholics, then it is fully allowed judging by your actions wicked, in fact you join in. But if we dare step anywhere near that forbidden subject...you know the one about those people who we cannot mention for fear of cc being bombed, then wham! the thread gets locked. There is a HUGE distinction, although unfortunately, the two are intertwined. I am Catholic myself and don't approve of Catholic-bashing, but what those priests did was wrong, and the slap on the wrist the Vatican gave was wrong as well IMO.
