awesome!
I just got BOB because of the Avatars on the left/right thing, and I like it.

Makes my games a bit easier, but I don't like the loading time at the start of each game....
Overall, its good, though. thanks for making it.

Neither do I - but there ain't much I can do about it!!

Lacks new partial log loading thing slows BOB down unfortunately - but on the flipside - it speeds his server up!!

Yeti,

You're probably getting sick of my suggestions by now, but I just thought of another one:

Could you add the round number to the chat logs? example:

2008-04-02 08:05:41 R7 - Blablabla: good game, everyone

This would be handy to reference what people are saying with what round they said it.

No - I take a copy of the log to parse... instead of parsing what is there... so to add the Round numbers to everything would take a bit of work - and would slow stuff down...

What if you didn't add a Round # to every single line, but something like this:

Round 1
Optimus Prime: What the hell were you doing, red?
yeti_c: Exacting my revenge, Prime!!!!
Twill: I like cupcakes. Yay!
Round 2:
lackattack: STOP EATING THE CUPCAKES TWILL!!!!!
Round 7:
Optimus Prime: Good game guys, I will enjoy your points.

If no new comments are made in a round, you would never see a tag, only when a new comment is made in a round that wasn't listed previously. Does that makes sense?

I see it looking sort of like in the Game Log when it says: Incrementing Game to Round 54 and all that jazz, only with the chat it would only be if needed.

Not that I really desire to have the feature all that much, very few people talk in my games, but if some folks want it, could be a possible solution. Would that still slow things down too much though? I wouldn't know. :)

The problem is - I would have to read the date/time in - and then compare that to the round ending times... etc...

It would be possible - but might take time to parse the chat... thus slowing down BOB.

I agree that it would be quite cool tho.

Aaaah, yeah, if they were really active chatters in that game I could see how that could slow things down then.

Forgive me if this has already been posted. I can't process 91 pages of the thread :)

I noticed in a FoW match that BOB doesn't process the log directly into the stats. Is this some thing that could be done? I mean unless you see the enemy, stats won't display, but the log lets you know how many territoriesthey have, and last bonus.

2008-04-06 12:22:39 - xxxx gets bonus of 5 armies added to ?
2008-04-06 12:22:39 - xxxx receives 2 armies for holding ?
2008-04-06 12:22:39 - xxxx receives 3 armies for 4 territories
2008-04-06 12:22:44 - xxxx deployed 5 armies on ?
2008-04-06 12:22:50 - xxxx attacked ? from ? and conquered it from neutral player
2008-04-06 12:23:18 - xxxx gets a card

Valid request?

This is already done... you need to look at the [Calc] column... (Calculated territories)...

Note that the *'s and the next bonus uses the Calc value for their calculations.

I have a question, and I could probably research some and get the answer for myself, but I'm lazy.

What do the stars next to the Territory %'s mean? Take a look at a game and you'll see what I mean.

So I just had an idea for an altered available text map for maps like age of realms with lots of territories.

Really, I don't care for all of the territories, unless they're owned. I want to see only the owned territories...

Would said textmap include "Unknown" or not?

Perhaps rather than remove them, sorting by "who owns" to show which territs you can see they control. and then all the spares at the end?

yeti, would it be possible for you to code an "army circle opacity" that would only vary the opacity of the circles? After the uproar today over Classic and the circles, I thought this might be another option. Keep up the good work.

Nope.

The army circles are part of the map. - The map itself can have it's opacity changed - but indiviual areas of the map can't.

Just thought I would ask. I mean it would have solved a lot of people's problems with the new Classic map. Thanks for the response.

How can I get rid of that "Flashing" update available

Post by LetGodSortThem »

My Existing BOB 4.2.1 Running on Linux(Ubuntu 7.10 via Wubi installer) runs great...fast page loads...on a 900 Plll...

How can I get rid of that "Flashing" update available on my BOB menu without doing update???

I'd prefer to wait until It's broke before I fix It...or break It...

Press the upgrade button... 4.2.1 won't be providing you with the correct stats anyway - so it is "broke".
