I'll give a bump, on your wife's lovely lady lumps...
This phrase is a chancre on the English language. Very rarely do I actually dislike people for fucking up the language, but what Fergie has done is unforgivable.
Please, let's not propagate this travesty...

'Crunk' is ruining the English language, yes Fergie doesn't help but at least she looks hot while she does it.... Lil John should be murdered in cold blood with a thesaurus, preferably in a library...
hey ill put this out there...in case anyone feels like contributing...
Most of you may have seen the half-done idea about the medication thing in my last asylum game. If you have any brillant ideas on how to make that actually work, feel free to put them here, in a discussion thread.

Perhaps a new discussion thread should be made, this one is already 73 pages long
Guys I am intentionally lurking. Discuss; Play mafia, it is good.

no need to make a new one...this ones here and its not like anyones busy jumping through the last 73 pages.
That song was bitchin' the first million times I heard it (it's hard to get tired of it until the girls do), but it definitely got boring.
Anyhow, I have no idea how the medicine worked the first game. Did that get reviewed during the endgame? Because I might have missed it in the recent bustle...
Napoleon Ier wrote:You people need to grow up to be honest.
i dont think it did, just a couple of the players who dealt with it, voiced some confusion....
Heres how it worked from the outside...
There were 4 physicians, who were given the names to a 1 or more (i cant remember who had the most) patients and were responsible for medicating those patients each night. Depending on how well or poorly they medicated their patient, the patient would be affected. In the case of exile/fircoal...exile was made to believe fircoal needed to be medicated every night or hed be a danger...when really he was a town joat. Of course exile didnt often medicate him, but unfortuantly for the town, fircoal didnt really play.
Each day the physicans had to pm the apothecary, sheep, and ask for a certain number and type of medication. Sheep could either give them the amount, or he could pm me that night and say what they order was, and that he denied the order. However the physicans would know it, so they might think they were administering meds, when they werent.
Basically if you were sheep each night you had to...
pm me the orders of each person, whether or not you handed them out or not, and tell me what medication you took for yourself.
if you were a physician you had to do this each day
pm sheep what you were going to order during the day, and during the night you had to pm me what you were administering to your patients (whether or not you got the medicine)
Where it worked well...it opened up a lot of possibilities as far as restrictions and twists and turns
Where it didnt work...it was a little too confusing and the physicians werent quite active enough. Iliad/Talapus did pretty well with it, though talapus got killed pretty quick. Exile didnt do a whole lot with it, which actually benefited the town if fircoal had done something with his role. Also, i wasnt active enough as a mod to make it work.
Possible ways in which it could improve, pm each patient at the beginning of the day to give them different restrictions or abilities if they are not medicated correctly. Tie some kind of if/then to the physicians if they arent active enough. Come up with a better system to notify the physicans if they do the job correctly.
Potential problems...i dont think there are enough players who play actively enough to make it work that well. Even i dont think i would be active enough the other way around to make it work as a physician all the time. It would probably have to be a smaller game to take a little pressure off the players, or i would have to be specific with who got the roles.
The whole process relies on the activity of a lot of people. If one of those links break, the whole thing kinda sputters. The only real way I see of getting around this, is vetting who actually gets these roles based on their previous activity. It seemed that most of your picks are usually pretty active, but that is never a guarantee.
I don't really see any flaws in the actual structure of the system. I assume the effects of the meds were known to the physicians?
On another note, if I were a physician, I would have probably tried to OD my patient, just to see what would happen.
Napoleon Ier wrote:You people need to grow up to be honest.
Yeah... for the medication thing to be effective, the people administering it would have to know, or think they know, what the medication does to their patient. Otherwise, they have no ability to manipulate it; they would only be fooling around.
Jesus gt, I'm quite glad I was just a random SK in that game, that's pretty fucking complex man and relies way too much on players being active (which they're not here, lol). As far as a suggestion to improve it goes I'm not sure, I'd need to put some thought into it and perhaps read the scene from the game again.
You put a hell of a lot of work into that game, even the SK/third-party roles were fuckin crazy, good job on that. It's too bad though that those of us who really wanted to play it kept getting NK'ed after 1 night and many submarining fools made it quite long...
I look forward to another one from you, quite enjoyed it.
