Thanks for the feedback. That's a shame about the cloak, perhaps someone else has a substitute idea? As for the graphics, I said in my post it was just a draft and if people showed interest then I would make it look decent.TaCktiX wrote:The XML isn't capable of doing what you're proposing, at least when it comes to the cloak ability. The graphics would have to come up a few orders of magnitude to be at a Foundry standard as well.

you could do foggy and the terit that has that capability could have a one way boarder - i think that would work but it would be really crap gameplay, so isnt worth doing.
this map doesnt really appeal - the armies are just bubbles and called the same things,
i think theres also a size issue???
and maybe you could design the map for 6 players instead of 8 to ease the size issue and maybe make it better?
I think, if I understand the explanation in the legend, that you can almost, but not quite, do them.Stain wrote:What makes this map different from the rest is the unique powers. I thought the lightning ability would be simple enough to do, there are maps out there that have territories being able to annihilate (Feudal War). As for the life drain, I would want it to drain armies only if there was more than 1 army on the territory and then the hero get whatever was drained. If that can't be done than it could just work in the sense that, the territories being drained would get -1/-2/-3/whatever per turn and the hero would gain +1/+2/+3/whatever per turn.Stain wrote:What makes this map different from the rest is the unique powers. The XML can't do that. Conditional Fog of War isn't do-able either. I would suggest dropping the invisibility entirely in favor of something else. As for the life drain, how about a fixed -1 around the hero, and a fixed +5 on the hero (I would suggest lower, the hero is very imbalanced as it stands).Ethitts wrote:I thought the lightning ability would be simple enough to do, there are maps out there that have territories being able to annihilate (Feudal War). Tacktix suggested having an alternative power to the invisibility; but I can't think of anything at the moment.Ethitts wrote: 1. Flight: can attack all good army leaders Yes
2. Lightning: can annihilate random places on the map Yes - well, not random places, but pre-designated ones
3. Invisibility: only holder of this hero can see the number of armies, everyone else sees ? (I don't know if this can be done or not) You're right, this can't be done as you intend
4. Shield: only armies that can fly can attack this hero (NOT flight hero) Yes, this can be done (one-way borders)
5. Minion control: can attack all evil army leaders Yes
6. Blast: can annihilate all armies in a line in front of this hero Yes, but you'd have to decide which line of territories could be attacked
7. life drain: drains armies from territories in front of this hero and adds it to his own territory Sort of; you could have a -1 decay, and a +3 autodeploy
8. Deathly Aura: all territories surrounding this hero lose 1 army per turn Yes
