also, the colour box next to "the horn" on the key appears to be a different colour then the actual subcontinent. the same goes for the "europe (total)" box.- <continent>

Gavin, it really was just a judgment call. I don't think their being connected or unconnected really will have a material impact on how the game is played and given that, I thought the isolated islands approach was more interesting.gavin_sidhu wrote:still dont know why you havent linked new caledonia and new zealand
I just dont like territories with only one border, it isnt in the classic map, it shouldnt be in other maps. You cant do that for all cases, however, cant logically connect Sri Lanka anywhere, but yo ucould fix up places like Japan by connecting it to Taiwan (historically correct, Taiwan was part of Japan for a while), Madagascar by connecting to Tanzania and Caribbean to Southern US.zim wrote:Gavin, it really was just a judgment call. If you think they should be connected for a playability, historic or geographic reason let me know your thinking and I'll reconsider.
Cheers,
Zim

I like what you did with Taiwan with that border thing, could you do it with cuba and or carribbean?
Andy,AndyDufresne wrote:I see your point about the one way borders, and I'd be fine with a Japan - Taiwan connection, as it doesn't really hurt the continent and could make sense geographically.
As for the Madagascar - Tanzania connection as an added one, I could see that also. Again, it makes sense geographically
The Caribbean - Southern USA...seems like a stretch though, both literally on the map and not.
And unfortunately, I still like the idea of the removal of the connection between Greenland and Nunavut, though it makes sense geographically, not so much strategically, but just my opinion. Wink
Hopefully I'll have time to do another in depth review again of gameplay, and look closer into it all. Others are welcome to do it also, since the more help this map can get, the better and better it will be. Once that is done, I will absolutely, definitely, without question put this into final forge right away, and look into more visual things, though I can't image any changes that would make this stunning map any more beautiful than it already is.

[/b]I have to disagree, I think the mini-map and how it is currently set up makes it very clear what does and what doesn't belong in the sub-conts, it'll quicken gameplay.Marvaddin wrote:I dont care about this map, but a thing I always thought was terrible and no one comments about is that mini-map with countries lacking... It fucking strange... Isnt there a way to put non subs countries there, just the borders maybe, without colours?
i agree, keep madagascar as a single connection. and did you mean caribbean instead of cuba? because cuba is already connected to southern usa. i would also agree bout caribbean however, its to far away.zim wrote:Let's split the difference and leave Madagascar and Cuba as single routes?
you seem really enthusiastic about this map! funny i didnt remember reading that in ur previous post...zim wrote:AndyDufresne wrote:Hopefully I'll have time to do another in depth review again of gameplay, and look closer into it all.
