Cashing in cards of eliminated player

Post by llcooljabe »

Twice now, in two different games, I have eliminated another player, and received cards enough to cash in. But it won't give me that option. But I see the log of the player before me who has eliminated a player, and immediately cashed in cards and then goes on to attack other players.

Why can't I do this?

You can only cash mid-turn when you have 5 or more cards.

And if you have more than five, it's possible to cash twice if you have two different sets.

Looks like I'm reading this closer than you are. He HAS enough cards to cash in after an elimination, but it won't let him. I suggest posting this on the suggs and buggs forum.

No what he is saying is that he has atleast 3 that form a set, hence being enough cards he could normally cash in at the beginning of turn, you arent getting what hes saying. What is said in the first and second responses are correct.

Both are correct. I just killed an opponent, got his cards and want to cash them in immediately. What timminz is saying is that I won't be able to cash-in in mid turn because I have less than 5 cards.

In my situation, I had 1 card, gained 3 more. I had a cashable set, but because I don't have 5 cards, I can't cash.

Animorph is suggesting that I make a suggestion to change this. I think I may.

The original RISK rules allowed for a cash when eliminating an opponent regardless of the number of cards you then held...

i'd love to see a selectable option for this...

a little RISK trivia:

some later versions required you to hold 5 cards after eliminating an opponent meaning that you would end your turn with 6 cards.... ugh... that was a lame rule...

The 5 card rule makes a lot of sense , if it were not in place then the person who goes first would have a huge advantage.

It would revolve way too much around luck if you could cash under 5. People would cash and hope to get 3 cards from another based on luck, etc. Would never want it like that. The 5 card is perfect, simple because you MUST hvae a set by 5 cards.
