I watch a little NASCAR. I have been to a couple of races in ATL it was very cool going down into the pits to see the cars up close. I'm a Dale Jarrett fan who is another one who hasn't done all that well in recent years. It will be interesting to see the toyotas thrown into the mix next year.

Would love to be able to attand a race...nothing very close by here although noises were being made about a track out in BFE, Oregon (seems stupid to me)....I like DJ too...hilarious ads for the truck.....

loved NASCAR a few years back. I went to every race at Lowe's Motor Speedway for 6 years. Went to Rockingham as a guest of Hendrick Motorsports and met Jimmy Johnson, his wife, and dog, Robbie Loomis, Terry Labonte, and Joe Nemechek. The coolest guy I met was the husband of the woman that invited me, Randy Dorton. He was the engine builder but he really was the man that put Hendrick motorsports on the map. Hendrick bought his engine shop in 1985, and hired him. He was very cool, he showed me the ins and outs of the operation. He passed away in Hendrick's plane in Martinsville. I still watch NASCAR but I don't enjoy it as much with new rules and politics.
I live close to MIS and did not miss a race there for many years. We made a week of it and always stayed on the infield for the whole weekend. Our group had season tickets to Talidaga and Bristol (still the best race track they go too!) and when Richard Petty retired my new driver was Mark Martin.
Now it is all bullshit, mooney, and stupid rules. I have no doubt that many a rum runner rolls over in his grave every weekend! It ceased being stock car racing long ago and NASCAR decides who wins with new rules weekly. What a waste!
I still go to the June race at MIS because I have to get that close to a car doing 200MPH at least once a year but I can't even tell you who is in "The Chase" (another stupid change) except for Mark and I am not sure but am confident that he is 4th or 5th as usual.
Thank god for ESPN Classic... Every once in a while I get to see a real stock car race again.
became a nascar fan because of my wife. she was raised in NC just north of Charlotte. she grew up going to races and lived minutes from the race shops. moved her to ATL and she took me to a race. after that i was hooked. anyone who is not a fan should go to a race the spectacle, the speed and the atomosphere will grab you. oh yeah then there is the fact that its the only sporting event left that you can take in your own refreshments. TAILGATING need i say more. any event where the tailgating lasts days is alright in my book. anyway, i pull for B. Labonte, and S. Riggs, dodges in general. wifes a JR fan so she is insane about everything.
can't beleive Riggs ended up 31st after being top 10 all day. that damned Harvick!!
