Two accounts in same household

Post by gobruinss »

What constitutes a multiple account? If someone in the same household wants to also set up an account, how is that legally done?

Thanks.

It is only illegal for one person to have two accounts. Roommates can both have their own.

As many people as you want in your house may have accounts. In fact, they can share the same computer even. The multi hunter's here are the best of the best that you can find anywhere, and will know if you are cheating or different people ;)

It is suggested that you don't play against eachother because it can look suspicious, but it's not against the rules.

Hope that help :D

Since you have a premium, everyone could just share that one account. It wouldn't be against the rules, you'd just have to put a note to self in your games saying "This is my game, you bastards f*ck off.", so you know who's game it is.

Is it not true? I looked at the rules, and it seemed like it was. Where does it say that?

Actually, multiple people on one account is legal, as long as no person on that account has any access to a second account. This was posted in one of the threads concerning wilderbeast. Link (See Twill's post on the second page)

I saw that link. Yeah, I think it's wrong to share an account with all your friends but I thinks there's nothing wrong to share one within your own family, especially, to prevent accusations of cheating.

AS long as none of them want to ever get their own account, it's fine. If any ever sign up for their own account, both are immediately considered multis, since one person has controlled more than one account.

Okay, now I'm confused. There are three accounts in my family in the same house. I have an account as do both of my sons. We mainly play between two computers. I never even thought of this as being illegal until I read this forum, but could see how it could be seen as multiple accounts based on the IP address. The response to the original post was that it was ok for a family to have multiple accounts on one computer unless I misunderstood. But then to read that if one of those accounts goes premium status, the others would have to share that premium account or face being labelled as "multiple-account holders" confuses me.

1. Why would one account going premium affect the others?

2. How would a family share an account? How would you differentiate between who's game was whose?

Gosh, five of us play in my household. We play over three different PC's quite often but still, five of us do play on one PC alot. We have two premium accounts and 3 freemiums. The suggestion that five people play on one accuont would eliminate the thrill of earning points, gaining rank and earning medals. In essence, you would have five players (in my case) working towards the same goals that single players do. THAT sounds like cheating to me and it's unfair to everyone else. And Oh :o , let us not forget the ensuing fighting and bickering over who caused the last loss and dropped points etc. No thank you. [-X

There is a way to set up your pc so that each person has a different IP; however, in the interest of not divulging information that would allow people to cheat the system and have multiple accounts, I am not going to reveal that here.

Basically, the only person on this string whose answer counts is The Fuzzy Penguin as he is a moderator and has been given special training to know the rules. I believe his answer can be trusted. :D

wouldn't say their the best of the best, they ran my name and saw 2 on the same IP adress and instantly assumed I was a multi even though I told lack my brother would be joining...

and they aren't even giving me the week and a half back in premium membership that I lost...

HOLD IT, stop getting upset!

He said that you could share an account, not that you have to. What he meant was that if you did share an account, you can't later go to having separate accounts.

Some people seemed to be worrying that this meant that roommates had to share accounts.

Not exactly blake. You cannot create two accounts for your own use, no matter what the circumstances. If you decide to share an account that is ok, however, if/when you decide to get separate accounts, neither of the two people can have access to both accounts.
