Actually it should happen every year.

it may look like simplistic math...but if there is a God this is how in God's infinite wisdom God views hockey.

Detroit greater than Colorado.

Right on, right on!

And as far as Colorado's coach is concerned, the coach is Joel Quenneville. He coached the Blues in three series against the Wings, losing all 3, going 5-12 against them. So now, as head coach, he's 5-16 vs. Detroit in the playoffs. I guess Detroit just has his number.

Pens looked very flat tonight. I expected a much better effort out of them tonight.

Franzen is back for game 2... would be too much to expect him to step right in and be a factor, right? But still, Detroit looks dominant, and like they always say "Defense wins championships" and with Detroit's puck-possession style of play, I just don't see Pittsburgh rebounding enough to win this series.

I'm pretty stoked. I hear they've loosened the crackdown on the octopus as well. That's always a plus.

2 games, 2 shutouts for Chris Osgood and the Red Wings. Ozzie for Conn Smythe? Can you really argue right now? Malkin is a non-factor, Crosby can't do it alone, and Detroit up and down is just superior. Detroit's defense is worlds better than Pittsburgh's, and the Pen's can't match up forward lines with Detroit either. I think the Pens win one game at home, but really, can anyone right now see this series going past 5 games?

Unless the Pens start some major turnaround, starting right now, it's looking rather bleak. Huzzah.

Crosby actually looked the hype right there. In other news, this is the first game I've been able to watch all playoff. It's been impossible to see a game here in the south.

Ok, as much as I've tried, I can't be disappointed about that game. It was so fun to watch, I'm really glad Dallas and Philly didn't make it to the finals. Kudos to the Pens for this one.

First game I got to see as well, and I wasn't disappointed. I smell a 2-2 series tie come Saturday.

Go Penguins! Gawd that sounds gay...

lol close enough. Really, if every game was like that one, I couldn't complain about the Wings losing the cup, as long as the series went the full seven. I'm stoked.

Yeah, it was a great game from what I saw. I'll be honest though, I fell asleep midway through the 3rd period.

You actually missed a good bit. But I think you caught the quick five minute stretch which was pretty excellent.

Same here. Detroit didn't really play a bad game. They were off to start. I'm not really surprised at the way the game went, before the series (before I got caught up in the 0 goals in two games) I had picked Pittsburgh to get their only win in game 3... Hopefully, that holds true! Go Wings!

I used to love hockey. I went through a major hockey university, R.P.I. I used to root for the local team the Islanders. But then the evil overlord of Computer Associates bought the Isladers and the next local team the Rangers was controlled by the evil corporate overlord who runs the local TV cable system and who managed to keep the Jets from moving to Manhatten (BOO HISS EVIL VILE ETC). Besides my schedule has been busy lately.

(And living in Key West where we didn't have any local ice hockey at all never mind a professional team for 8 years didn't help any I must say.)

Sad day for you Tzor. That was another damn good game, with a better outcome. I'm not usually a big fan of comparing experience, but I think that turned out to be a really important deciding factor in this game. I wish the announcers would have shut up about it, but I agree for the most part. What do you guys think?

Excellent game, Detroit just has a bit more than Pittsburgh. Should be interesting to see how the Pens come out Monday night. I don't expect this series to go 6 though.

I know a lot of people think the Pens will be here for years to come, but remember, Hossa is likely gone, Malone might leave too. The Pens won't look the same next year, but those who stay have gained valuable experience. Crosby likely will have his day.

Surely he will. He's got talent, no doubt. The next Gretzky, we'll just have to see...

I feel sorry for all those Detroit fans who attended the game. Apparently it didn't end until Tuesday, and all they got to see was the Red Wings lose. Hahahaha!
