Star Wars (not for the easily offended)

Post by Kid_A »

The new trilogy is better than the old one. I don't care how many nerds disagree. I am right!!

1. Empire Stikes Back (Best ever Star Wars flick!)
2. New Hope (Just because it started the whole genre, you needed to be around at that time to understand)
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Attack of the Clones
5. Return of the Jedi
6. Phantom Menace

That is how someone who has witnessed all the movies within their particular eras of which they had been introduced.

I know we have had a few threads about this, and I may have decided to rank Return of the Jedi lower, but it has to be better than the Phantom Menace!

Now speaking about which trilogy is better...as far as special effects go, the second trilogy is awesome; but before all the computer stuff, the first trilogy holds its own.

Prob just depends on when you were born. I imagine if you were 8, and the Phantom Menace was the first one you saw, then that will be the best.

I agree, as I was about 8 when the New Hope came out. But The Phantom Menace was a bit too political for an 8 year old don't you think?

I don't like Star Wars, old new or middle-aged.
And never did.
I hate it that people think I mean crap like Star Wars and B5 and Battlestar Galactica and Trek and all that when I say I like Science Fiction. I hate it that TV and movies are what people think SF is about.
There has been a little good SF on small or big screen, but very little.

You said it. This Kid_A needs to shut his cakehole. Now, I was not born until the OT had all been released for some time, I saw them when I was six or seven. Since then, I've been a fan. Not a fanatic who dresses up and goes to conventions (if I were to do that, I'd storm into a Trekkie one dressed either as one of those Imperial Officers or as Boba Fett. I don't much care for that "Jango" character), but I like the films.

Oh, and Jones, GET OVER IT! Nobody, save a few people (myself among them) even have any clue what you are talking about. It is a fact of your existance so suck it up, princess  .

And now that I have that rant and the prior rave out of my system, I bid you all Guten Tag!

Dear Kid_A,
Your ex-girlfriend asked me to deliver the following article to this address. She said she wrote it specifically for you.

she should have a crack about him not needing to use the force...my life probably would have been complete had she added that in. Still top notch stuff.

That's not really something to brag about actually....

Philip Farmer once worked out that, had King Kong been hung proportionally, he could just about have had sex with the girl he kidnaps. They have small willies.

maybe the whole post is about her backhandedly complimenting him and begging for him to get back together with her...only shes trying to put it in a way where she can test his force sense.

I think the 'came on my face' bit kind of gives that away...

But it still made me cackle with malicious glee.

In my opinion, all the Star Wars nonsense is the result of "Solo shots"

This is an odd post...

Old ones are better - yet rating Jedi as the best?! WTF.

Personally I would say it's this order.
1.empire
2.new hope
3.sith
4.jedi.
5.clones
6.phantom

Both trilogies were stupid, but the first one was actually kinda cool before it got uber capitalized. The second trilogy is just for retarded 10 year olds.

I understand this qualification about little kids that apparently needs restating every time this frankly redundant conversation comes round again, but for f*ck's sake...

Look. It's easy. Anyone who puts eps 1 or 2 anywhere but the bottom of the pile is either 5 years old (and blind) or taking the piss. Anyone who puts sith 3rd and jedi 4th has clearly not watched jedi in a while, and needs reminding.

Jedi:
Leia in a bikini
luke being all badass for the first time - in jabba's palace and on the gangplank over the pit
luke vs darth proper
death of the emperor
the saarlac - luke's epic maneouvre, boba fett's death
speeder bikes chase
also: harrison ford and alec guinness are in it.

Sith:
Natalie 'charisma-free' Portman giving birth under a polytunnel (i laughed so hard at this)
Ewan 'why am i here' Mcgregor telling Haydn 'out-acted by the furniture' Christiansen that he can't win his fucking lightsaber fight cos he's standing on lower ground. I mean really.
Ewan 'jesus, will my career ever recover?' Macgregor looking mortified the entire time

Oh god i could go on and on. There IS NO COMPARISON HERE.

And yes, that bitch on craigslist is my ex.
