the writer of the book is dead, so i don't think there are still copyright issues right?bryguy wrote:if it is a book/television series, then you will need copyright permission from the author/studio/company who makes it.
how long has he/she been dead? i think that if the author has been dead for like 60 years then the copyright is no longer valid, but you would have to check around to see if im rightzimmah wrote:the writer of the book is dead, so i don't think there are still copyright issues right?bryguy wrote:if it is a book/television series, then you will need copyright permission from the author/studio/company who makes it.
I don't think it has been that long. I'd guess 30 or 40 at most. And his children have continued writing the series using his transcripts which I'm sure has some sort of impact on it.bryguy wrote:how long has he/she been dead? i think that if the author has been dead for like 60 years then the copyright is no longer valid, but you would have to check around to see if im rightzimmah wrote:the writer of the book is dead, so i don't think there are still copyright issues right?bryguy wrote:if it is a book/television series, then you will need copyright permission from the author/studio/company who makes it.

but tell me if it'ud work.
oh and does anyone know how to enlarge/shrink a photo without photoshop?
You can resize photos using a lot of programs. Not sure what you have, but there are free programs for both mac and pc platforms as well as website that will do it for ya. Check out the map foundry tutorials section for information on various software and such.
WHich is why I'd consider doing a Star Wars inspired map if you don't want to fight for permissions which could be difficult to get. At least consider it.Dion713 wrote:Thansk MrBenn for the link...it seems the one thing holding everyone up is permission.

Hmm... sounds good. I may have a go at thisSimon Viavant wrote:I'd like to see an Alaska map. There's six regions. The Aleutians, the Southcentral, the Southeast (sometimes called the panhandle), the Interior, the North Slope (sometimes called the Arctic or the Far North), and the Western region.

im making one......zimmah wrote:i'd like to see a classic style map or something with like 96+ territories. so we can also have a bigger map instead of 11 small classic maps(36 or less territories) (might be even more but right now i see about 11 small maps in the foundry being created)
maybe some diff. gameplay but it's not neccesery.
is there any mapmaker that can make a nice 8 player map?please?

it has over 100 territories, except that the lower left corner of the map is running into problems
if my supermarket idea catches on it might have, hmm, 80-some territs. would that work?zimmah wrote:i'd like to see a classic style map or something with like 96+ territories. so we can also have a bigger map instead of 11 small classic maps(36 or less territories) (might be even more but right now i see about 11 small maps in the foundry being created)
