Well I liked the idea of the new ratings system but after just a few days here I'm worried it will be compromised by the poor sport jerk type player. I've already been threatened in two games to be given poor ratings simply because I was doing well in the game and certain others just didn't agree with my strategy. It would certainly be easy to throw someone all 1's ratings whether they deserve them or not. Poor sports that would do such a thing are usually lazy and inarticulate too, (the root cause of most of these things is a lack of intelligence and wisdom), so actually it's much easier for them to leave a negative rating than it was for them to type out a negative comment.
Besides, negative comments written by fools often belie the author for the fool that they are. A bad rating looks the same whether it came from a idiot or a genius.

This is a valid point by Jim,,, have also been threatened by a player, who also did not like the fact i won, or was it because i am female!? Either way, its a loophole that can and will be exploited by childish or unsporting players!!
as mentioned before by another player (cant remember who), the bad thing about ratings are they can't be challenged. with feedback you can challenge it and have it removed if it's not appropriate

now this is exactly why i would like to see comments on ratings. so you can see for yourself why someone got a bad rating

that;s exactly why they 'updated' the rating system. the mods got crazy about the massive pm's they got about negative feedback. but this system is not the sollution, at least not the way they made it. it needs lots of improvements for it to even get anywhere near the old system.
If they give you a bad rating for that, put them on your foe list so you don't have to play with them again. And don't worry about a 1.0 rating because it's going to average out in a few weeks once you get enough ratings. A few low ratings it not going to ruin your CC life.
the fact is the rating system is very very flawed and its even more susceptible to revenge ratings than the old system and as said above totally made a mockery of by unsporting players
hopefully the majority of cc isn't a bunch of low sporting, jerk people. anyways, i think that it'll balance out in time... if people see that there is one bad rating, and lots and lots of good ones, they can assume that the bad one was some jerk.

just like on the old systsem, where someone would have liek 50 pos feedback and then 2-3 negs.
it will balance out soon. just needs a little time and some patience.

I do not wish to see the Average ratings... I want to see if player deadbeats... I want to see if player is abusive... Because ratings WILL average out over the time... we will NOT be able to select people that are pain to play with.

Yes, I am MUCH more concerned with feedback people leave. Ironically, though folks complain about getting bad feedback, under the old system I was probably more likely to put someone leaving a negative for obviously childish reasons on my ignore list than someone who got a few negs.
NOW, not only are there no comments, but you can't just quick see who left the bad ratings, like you could with the old system.
I actually made a couple of suggestions to try and correct this, but we will have to see what the majority think.

Just to clarify a few things. Your first sentence is an opinion coupled with an assumption.
Also, a person's experience or lack thereof with the feedback moderators is not relevant.
For the record though: I have no experience whatsoever with the feedback moderators, and as of writing this have received nothing but 5.0 ratings. I'm sure that will change if threats are carried out, or for whatever reason.
My point was to illustrate a likely shortcoming of the new system that had not occurred to me until it was actually in place. I always seem to forget that there are always bad apples ruining the bunch. For some reason I always expect everyone to behave with intelligence and common courtesy.

So the site took a lot of flack for the feedback system. There are loads of topics (complaints) So our pal Lack took it into his mind to set up a better way. Thanks Lackattack for all your hard work. Will the new system have problems - More than likely, but as you can see he is trying to move forward.
To me the rating system is like a gun. It is a tool it has it's use's. But remember guns do not kill people. People kill people.
It is the people that are causing the problems not the rating system.

If someone tries to bribe or blackmail you into giving a certain rating, please fill out an eticket (under HELP tab up top) and tell us which game to look into.
I think this is something we'll have to get used to with the new ratings system... Juls and Uncle Death left both me and my partner all 1's because we kicked their butts. What's frustrating is that, now that the game's archived, I can't leave them the feedback they deserve. Also, I find it pretty messed up that Uncle Death even left us 1's for Teamwork and Attendance, although we never missed a round and, apparently out teamwork was good enough to win the game. In short - I, for one, will not be placing too much emphasis on these new ratings.
I haven't been around long enough for the 'feedback' system, after reading many things it seems as if the feedback system was a system where you could say whether you liked that player or not and state reasons why?
Anyway, that is a valid point. There is always the wall, but why use it if you want to give the player a bad rating? Perhaps you could write a message on your own wall for the viewer to look up the game or something, I don't know.
I do like the intentions of trying to improve the feedback system, but it will always be flawed and there is no solution to resolving the glitches inherent in it's use. Abuse of the priviledge occurred in it's previous incarnation and will obviously continue. It's disappointing to read that people who've played a lot of games (Juls/Uncle Death) choose to respond to a loss with retaliatory feedback.
I'm wondering if the big orange star has a function. Will it's appearance change over time or is it just a decorative thingamajig?

That is another assumption. I don't have to have experience with something to have a clue about it. Do you have experience with brain surgery? Then you have no clue that it's a difficult serious procedure, or do you?
