This new feedback system sucks......

Having been an enthuiastic player on this site (posh word for addicted) i find myself losing interest... First it was the points adjustment, lowering the standards so that any man and his dog, could reach Officer, and now this 'Mickey Mouse' ratings system!!!

One felt like you had achieved something in attaining 1800 pts, and therefore picking up lieu, now the challenge has been watered down! Having come to terms with this, and regaining my zest for play, this new ''Worthless'' ranking adjustment comes into play!

Giving and receiving feedback, was an important sideline to the games, as you could put into words how you felt regarding the persons you had played! Meaning you had to ''Think'' and take time to type a comment!! Now you can just click a star and submit, pretty easy on the Brain Cells... as well as not painting a true picture.....

I know of several players who think the way i do, and some have even stopped playing, and i realise that my comments will not appeal to everyone, but i think a few of the seasoned players might agree with my words!

I can apprecaite that this site is a ''Business Site'' and attracting younger players with the current settings is a good idea...

Would be really great to have at least the old feedback system, returned into its rightfull place, and to see the back of this easy peasy, no respect given or accepted 'Star System'

Can't say I disagree with you Kick, I still find myself clicking on a person's feedback to see if I want to play with them or not, could really care less about the 'stars', not sure what I'm gonna do when that discontinued service is archived. Can't tell enough about a person just by the stars and I hate investing time in a game with deadbeats.
And ya the feedback system was abused and no doubt required a lot of maintenance but there was little doubt that, over the course of time, a players true nature was revealed and you could peruse it at a click.

Agreed fully.....I find myself not getting full stars in places like attendance and attitude, when I didn't miss turns or say anything in the game chat.

I don't get the problem with the new feedback system.The old feedback system inspired at least 5 threads a week of : Please remove unfair feedback! The new system is an average which OVER time will show a consensus view of a player. At first it can be radicaly skewed due to the low number of ratings you have. But eventually one person rating you a 1-star (in an attempt to be funny or retailiate for some unknown slight) isn't going to change your average when you have 1000 other ratings in their...give it time. Change can be good.

If this were th efeedback system from the start (easy, fair and logical) would anyone say "Can I please have a feedback system which I need to check daily to be sure an opponent didn't type random derogatory things about my mother on my page, and then I would have to submit a delete reqquest to the mods, please? I don't think so. It has evolved into something better. Maybe not perfect, but better

I hear what your saying, and i respect your comments.... i realise that my statement is not everybody's 'Cup of Tea' but the Star System is cheap and tinny..... the vast majority of 'True Gamers' cared and took a sense of pride in evaluating and being evaluated by other players! Now i could not give 2 hoots how many stars i receive, in fact i rarely bother to give feedback using this new system.....

Anyway as Delia and Fruitcake are good friends of mine, i dont want to upset your clan...

I hear what your saying, and i respect your comments.... i realise that my statement is not everybody's 'Cup of Tea' but the Star System is cheap and tinny..... the vast majority of 'True Gamers' cared and took a sense of pride in evaluating and being evaluated by other players! Now i could not give 2 hoots how many stars i receive, in fact i rarely bother to give feedback using this new system.....

not sure what all the fuss was about getting feedback removed. If someone had 80 positive feedback on the old system and 1 negative I think most would overlook the negative feedback. When I got my first negative feedback ... I didn't bother complaining to get it removed as anyone could figure out that it was crap to begin with.

When nearly everyone is soon between 4 to 4.9 stars what does that tell me. On the other hand, if someone had a lot of negative feedbacks on the old system... I could click for more detail to find out if they will deadbeat or were just a prick and then avoid playing them.

that is a reality i just confronted... despite having a player calling for a veiled alliance against
me in a standard game, and our having a discussion about it in game chat and then in PM's and both
walking away friendly... i got, what i consider, a poor rating for "attitude". funny...-0

That's because you won. In the good ol' days, nothing more would have been said, and at some point in the future, it would have all been forgotten, you would have met again, done battle and perhaps he would have won. Now, when you next meet, you may well say...'oh yeah, you're the guy who downgraded me. '

Sounds like a great way to create harmony.

Can't say how it will come out or if anything will change as a result ... but I think presenting viable options is better than just complaining.
