That would be because 3 stars is the norm, whether or not all of you want to accept it, that is what was set forth by CC as the norm. Unless you did something impressive, you don't deserve more than 3 stars in any category.oziris wrote:I have same issue with that. Attendance should be automatically given by the site programming. Guy that missed 3 turns and got kicked out for it gave me attendance of 3 stars and I didn't miss any turns. Plain retarded. In fact he seems to give almost everyone 3 stars in all categories.
How does one do something extraordinary in "fair play"? I mean, how are you "particularly fair"? Do you not only have to not engage in shady tactics but somehow try and even out the playing field should you find that somehow you've unwittingly benefited from the shady tactics of others?Optimus Prime wrote:That would be because 3 stars is the norm, whether or not all of you want to accept it, that is what was set forth by CC as the norm. how do you do something impressive with attendance ? either you moved within 24 hours or you dint. All the freemiums that play only 2 player games because they wont fork out the 25 bucks will leave BS ratings for attendance because they want you to sit there and play until the game is over. That is what speed games are for. So now we are getting nailed for BS that is the same thing compared to negative feedbacks that they were leaving. Only now we cant get them removed.Optimus Prime wrote:That would be because 3 stars is the norm, whether or not all of you want to accept it, that is what was set forth by CC as the norm. Well, not that I agree at all with the arbitrary nature of these ratings, attendance and attitude are two things that I can understand average vs. superior grades in. Again, assuming that 3s were not instinctively thought of as basically negative. Whether or not you have some unfair expectation that people will be playing RT or not, it certainly doesn't suck for it to be your turn more often than not. Thus, any player who's always very quick to make his move, helps in this regard. So, again, provided the prevailing mindset was not "what did this person do wrong?" with 3s, I could understand saving 4s and 5s for those who really help move the game along.JOHNNYROCKET24 wrote:how do you do something impressive with attendance ? either you moved within 24 hours or you dint. How can you do anymore than turn up and take all your turns in any given game, how can you "impressively" take your turns in any other way?Optimus Prime wrote:That would be because 3 stars is the norm, whether or not all of you want to accept it, that is what was set forth by CC as the norm. So now I have to check the game log every round to see who was fast and who was slow? C'mon...detlef wrote: Well, not that I agree at all with the arbitrary nature of these ratings, attendance and attitude are two things that I can understand average vs. superior grades in. Well, I don't think you should have to do a damned thing because I think the whole system is freaking useless. Partially because most people feel that everyone should get 5s unless they do something really bad and partially because others adhere to some seemingly arbitrary levels of what is good.Anarkistsdream wrote:So now I have to check the game log every round to see who was fast and who was slow? Agreed

Exactly... It is way too subjective
Forgive me for not falling in line with exactly how you think. I was simply pointing out how somebody can, in fact, excel at that.
Did either of us say we didn't agree with the other? You should learn what Devil's Advocates do.![]()
Do you mean to imply that you've never been particularly pleased with a group of players who play speedy?
I'm premium, so why the hell would I care how fast they play?
Again, I totally understand the fact that there's all kinds of things beyond your control like living in different time zones, etc. Just saying that there are certainly levels.

I suppose I've always believed that Devil's Advocates bring up interesting but contrary takes to the prevailing wisdom, you know, issues that people haven't thought of. What you just did there was pretend I said something I didn't and then argued against it which seems more like the debate version of masturbation than playing devil's advocate.Anarkistsdream wrote:detlef wrote:Well, I don't think you should have to do a damned thing because I think the whole system is freaking useless.Anarkistsdream wrote:So now I have to check the game log every round to see who was fast and who was slow? Now you know what it means...In common parlance, a devil's advocate is someone who takes a position, sometimes one he or she disagrees with, for the sake of argument. This process can be used to test the quality of the original argument and identify weaknesses in its structure.

FINALLY, a freakin' smile! I thought you may actually be getting upset by this, when I am, in fact, only playing...detlef wrote:I disagree.Anarkistsdream wrote:Now you know what it means...In common parlance, a devil's advocate is someone who takes a position, sometimes one he or she disagrees with, for the sake of argument. optimus... how do you outperform showing up and not missing a turn? this is all subjective. i would suggest the OP contact the individual and ask for his reasoning behind the rating. and what is low to the OP? i got a 3 in a category, which is LOW to me, and i pm'd the guy out of interest of his thought process on rating me. out of the discussion, i learned what he was thinking, and we both walked away happy. oddly enough, he saw why i was so discouraged by his rating, and he is going to change how he rates in that category from now on. does it help me? no. does it help the next 100 guys? yes. it will all shake out. the OP should contact the guy and ask him how he arrived at the rating, and do it in a civil manner...-0Optimus Prime wrote:That would be because 3 stars is the norm, whether or not all of you want to accept it, that is what was set forth by CC as the norm.
