To be fair, it can be hard to detect internet sarcasm sometimes.

The social tool of sarcasm includes detecting tone of voice, and to a lesser extent facial expression and body language. None of that exists on the internet, which is why many people have a much harder time detecting it than in real life.
I'm not one of those people, of course.
