• Compulsory score reset for cheats

Specifics:

• Why do people create multi's? Answer: (Mostly) to win games and improve their score on one account so that they get a higher rating.
  Why do people conduct secret diplomacy? Answer: To win games and improve their scores and thus they get a higher rating.
  
  Currently a score reset is only applied when 'the points gained are deemed to be excessive'.
  
  Surely that simply encourages players to find new 'buddies' after they are caught as they are allowed to keep the points they have gained though foul means. If these people knew that when they are caught they lose all the points they have worked so hard to gain then they will think twice about doing it.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• Discouraging people from creating multi's/conducting secret diplomacy.

i think all cheats should have a permanent ban without the chance to pay for premium and continue playing/cheating.
but since lack wants to give everybody a second chance i think score resets should be always applied

I would like some added notification.

I don't peruse the Cheaters forum, so I don't know who has been reprimanded and who hasn't.

What about some kind of mark to their name/profile ... maybe a C next to the rating or some such. Perhaps even with a link to a list that would show who is a convicted multi and their various alias'. Both could expire in time ... maybe 2 months for first offense ... 6 for second and complete ban for 3.

I think it's time to punish the cheats in a real way, and this would be a good one. Lack is a very smart man. And I think he's smart enough to realize that keeping many thousands of prem members happy will make him much more money on CC than allowing a few cheats to get away with it. I believe there would be a giant swell of pride and loyalty to CC if a public and severe punishment was dealt out every time one of these sleezeballs were caught....and I'm all for letting Lack and the Mods know that.
If getting XI Games 80 plus members to post here for emphasis will help....that can happen. It's time for a change.

Those of you that have posted other suggestions need to start your own thread for those. I have tried in vain to have each of those implimented myself already. This one seems to me to be a good place to start as it should already be in place.

Recently someone was caught having a secret alliance for the second time. Having won scores of games each time though cheating. His punishment for his first and repeat offenses. A block from playing with his accomplise's!!!!!

No score reset, no loss of premium just stopped from playing with his partner in crime!!!

Poor, very poor.

And it looks to me like his previous partner in crime has been playing with the new one as well.

No wonder the cheats arn't worried about being caught when they get to keep their ill gotten gains!!!!

It's like someone being caught handling stolen goods but being allowed to keep them and geting told you can't go out robbing with that guy again!!

Letting cheats keep their points/medals for what they have gained cheating is a disservice on everyone that plays and pays by the rules. A second chance is all good and fine but not with what they stole. You cheat you get reset you cheat again you get baned.

pretty sure the way it works is if you gained significant points as a direct result of cheating you get a reset
and cheaters will always be able to re-buy premi..more money for lack..which means more snorting coke off of hookers

The statement I got was 'significant points gain' as well. But what consitutes significant points?

For example Brutalmaggot just got a block for his second offense. No points reset, nothing!!!! If it were made simplier then the admins would not have to check how many points were gained it would save them time and effort. And what then if the person appeals? 'don't take my points. I wont do it again, blar blar.

If the rules are set there is no arguement. You cheat in any way. bye bye points. Simple.

I would agree in the context of creating multis to gain points. Most score resets only seem to happen when the people in C&A bother to give an indication of the points gained by cheating. However there are still cases where one simply wants to play more than 4 games without paying for premium, I don't see how resetting their scores would do much good.

I'd rather see all the cheaters permanently banned (no rebuys, this ain't poker) and any of their remaining active games deleted.

I fail to see how those have negatively impact for us players? Can see why lack dislikes them though.

As for permanently banning cheats. I totally agree but that is not going to happen on this site as it generates revenue. This is the best alternative and is easy to impliment.

Eh? Who said it's already happening? The only score resets currently are. as has already been said, if there is proof or excessive points gain.

I find it incredible that players who cheat are allowed to keep the spoils of their cheating!!!

We have two recent busts were the admins have said 'Blocked' Which simply means that the persons cannot play with each other again. So they just find someone else to cheat with!!!!

The admins are saying that a score reset is 'being looked into'.

For one of those it is his second bust for secret diplomacy and his co-conspiritor for the first bust has also been cheating with the same player as well!!!

If a score reset were an integral part of being caught then the admins would not have to waste time looking into how many points were gained.

It would also discourge people from doing it in the first place thus saving even more time.

Just take a look at the case of second time offender Mystique. Even though the account had been 'inactivated' due to his 'past history' he was still able to buy premium and is currently up and at it again.

I don't see how resetting points is much of a punishment.I wouldnt care if they reset my points tommorrow.

If there is a reset, it should not be to 1000 points, though... it should be lower. Not 0, because then anybody who played them would lose too many points, but I think 500 would be more appropriate than 1000.

I agree but I think its going to be tough enough to get agreement on a compulsory reset at all let alone to 500 points.
