I just lost a game due to AJAX BOB loading... now I've taken it off I can take my turns much faster since making moves goes quicker.

REMOVE BOB!

Oh dear, seems someone got a case of the (insert something smart here).

But on a serious note, how can you complain on something that YOU choose to dowload and install onto your own computer. If its suck a big deal uninstall it and you wont have to worry. Im sure your good enought to paly without it.

Bob is invaluable! (to all that made it - i doff my cap!)

But it does slow you down, It is a godsend for me as i do not play Speedgames or Freestyle. If i did, i think it could be a disadvantage.

Yeah I've always used it and it's been quite useful but I took it off and now games run much faster... this is a warning to everyone!

Warning taken! Get out the tool kit and replace that cooper wire with a fiber optic cable and your sorted, bob and all!

heheh! i think my (BB) Wireless is not very helpful for speed either! ... also i think it interrupts my neural-pathways .. the other day i received a penis enlargement email in my cerebral cortex! .. but that is another topic!

I play speed everything and BOB works fine for me.
Its especially useful in fog games.
if BOB slows down, just click the monkey in the corner and refresh the webpage that you have up. then BOB is off and you don't have to worry about it.

Actually it would be nice to have a lighter version of BOB and CM tailored to freestyle RT players.

On BOB - all you really need is army count, territory count - probably don't even need bonus continents held.

On CM - anything that can be stripped out to make it faster. I kid you not it's really faster to use the menus if you can. It would prob require a complete overhaul, but you could have a 3-button system. L-click: populates that territory into the left "from" menu. R-click: populates that territory int the right "to" territory. Mouse wheel... move the number +/-. Center click... activate whatever the button conrol is ATM (Begin/Attack/Advance/Forify).

I strongly agree... alll I need BOB for is calculating teritories, hiding the sidebar and moving the clock. Not all the extra crap that slows it down especially in big maps that can lose you games.

I think it all depends on the speed of your computer.

I knew i would never be able to download it, because lets say my computer is old and slightly slow now, on average, when i make a move on CC about 2/5s of the time it times out, and i get that little annoying message, unable to contact server or something.
And other times it just takes 30 seconds to display a page, and decides to suddenly come up, "internet explorer is unable to show this webpage" or something shit like that.
So if this BOB man is slowing you down, its not because its a faulty program,....

Its because YOUR PC cant handle it!

I know mine cant!

No honestly it does slow down games lsightly. Removing it is more fun.

yeah but since im on a family pc, my dad may kill me for downloading something that fucks it up. So try not to download too much!

And yeah they say those things do speed it up, but i figure if it gets unuseabe my dad will just have to buy a new (fast) pc!

Oh my connection is perfect, its just the pc that is hell slow!

yeah conquer man is practically unplayable for me with Bob...
The rest are absolutely grand. Though World 2.1 shows lag when there are massive forces involved, after loading it is fine.
