i think that vrs 2.5 is perfect and then it was down hill from there but very ambisios

I'm not sure it's just the colour... have a play around and try something different - remember the aim is to improve on what you've got.

I still dislike the legend changing the brightness won't help that much...

not a glow. it needs to blend better. i'm not sure what you would do exactly since you've got the bevel on this. i thought you had a drop shadow going on but i think maybe it's the texture of the sea.

also, why does the legend on the large and small differ so much?

the text "impassables"... can you move it further off the mountains?

no... i think what i'm saying is that right now is that it doesn't look intentional. if you don't mind it floating i think you need to experiment how it blends with the surrounding body of water.

it might be the bevel that you're using to texture the land doesn't fit too well with the style of the water and the paint strokes used for the bonuses. Those 2 elements have an very specific look to them.

Essentially the island and the water are clashing and drawing attention to the point where it's the most obvious: the coast. I'm not entirely certain what's causing it but i know it needs a bit of care.

You might also consider outlining the entire island in the thick brush you used to separate bonus. That might be an easy way to go through with it but i'm not sure if it will visually get you what you want.

I don't think just lightening the water will solve what i'm talking about.

You might also consider outlining the entire island in the thick brush you used to separate bonus. That might be an easy way to go through with it but i'm not sure if it will visually get you what you want.

I don't think just lightening the water will solve what i'm talking about.

yes, i dont think so either, however for me it isnt a big deal because i like the clash of colours, i know i could have the clash with the island blending - but i am yet to find a way.

thanks for the comments snap, ill try to find a way but i think its the style of the island that wouldnt really go with many things.

Additionally, it might be worthwhile to consider adding an outline around the minimap, just so there is some separation between the minimap and the background. Or something, just so it doesn't blend in all together.
