Perhaps you can make your own thread with your own list with your own qualifications for what counts and what doesn't?

why you getting defensive? Cant you take constructive critiscim?

I'm not defensive. It's a simple suggestion. If you dont like how OP is doing his thread, you are perfectly able of doing your own! :)

rather than doing my own and seeing how other people have commented on the same thing, wouldnt it be better if suggestions were taken on board to satisfy everyone...

Anyways ive asked OP to remove my clan from his medals list

This thread is not in the Suggestions forum or the foundry, so the original poster doesn't HAVE to take suggestions from anybody unless he/she desires. If you think this is a worthless/inaccurate/BS/(fit negative adjective here) thread, then don't post here. It'll eventually die it's way off page 1 if people want it to. Besides, no one ever said you or anyone else had to read and comment on every thread.

Anywho, back to the original purpose of the thread.

That's a good idea. We wouldn't want some noobies thinking that The Untouchables were an awful guild because they didn't have as many medals as others. Especially since medals are incredibly important and tell you everything about a player, right?

Medals are just for fun. They are even more useless than the current rating system. Heaven forbid OP creates a thread just for amusement's sake. Does everything always have to be an e-peen contest?

Kind of like his community-driven, oh-so-perfect, Clan Rankings thread!

You just don't get it do you, hulmey? The thread was made to satisfy my curiosity, nothing more, nothing less. If nobody had responded I wouldn't have cared, but people did respond so I put their stats in the first post. This isn't a community driven project, it was never intended to last more than a couple of days just to see what kind of response there way, much like 95% of threads that are created on this forum.

Nobody was getting defensive, all they were doing is stating that I don't have to change my format just because a couple of guys want me to. I don't intend on maintaining this list over weeks and months, just taking a couple of days to see what people say.

The thread about how many posts were in the clan forums was exactly the same thing. I was bored during a slow day at work and had been having a conversation with a friend here on the site and decided to put the question out to the community here. It got a couple of responses, both mature and immature and then it died after a day or two, and I never brought it back. I didn't need to, I was satisfied with what I found out because of it.

I'll remove The Untouchables from such an oh-so-tainted (as you seem to consider it) list.

Just because you feel it necessary to be negative and condescending about 80% of what goes on here at CC doesn't mean the rest of us here just for a little fun can't pose random questions to everyone for a couple of days without bending to your will.

Enjoy your day.

im being negative lol...it was bones telling whattoworry, to stuff it up his bum and then also trying to be dry and sarcastic with WCA....

All im saying is why not do them both!?!? I wasnt rude, i was simply putting an idea across which would benefit everyone's curoisty not just yours!!

And yes i do get it, maybe your not getting it...

Ps,,,im only negative with people who have their head up their own arse!

You didn't used to think I had my head up my own arse, hulmey. Only since your perceived injustice to yorkiepeter. That is neither here nor there however.

As for doing both, I'm not interested in doing both. Anyone who is can do it, but I'm not going to, I am interested in a comparison in the manner which I outlined. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I didn't create the thread to sate everyone else's curiosity past the level of mine.

*note* there were 4 other members, but they haven't won any games since the medals started (so their profile doesn't show their medals), so I excluded them from the totals.

i dont think those people are on the site anymore though.

i think tourney medals should count, map making medals should be counted double and special contribution 10 times.
why?
well because the current medals have nothing to do with quality of risk just with quantity. a lousy player could easily get all 27 medals if he plays enough games.
didn't anybody notice how many games do people with many medals have? 3000 5000 9000.
when it comes to hosting tourneys and making maps there's no easy way about it. you can't make 2000 shitty maps and get medals, you have to give top notch quality. ;)

i agree 100%... espcially with maps, you need the super "Final Forge" symbol and have everyone looking and critiqueing... tournaments, also not easy, easier then maps, perhaps, but you still wont be able to get the 10+medals that prime, myself, sir ricco, and a couple select others have with such crappy quality. which is why i also belive they should count :)

Okay, I did the calculations and included members that are in another clan(s) but is still in 18 and Under Clan. The total number of medals for the 18 and Under Clan is...

Hulmey, OPie, NS, WmW, and bones, chill.

Hulmey, if ya don't like a thread, you don't have to post in it. Taking it off topic (even if you think the topic is bogus) is never helpful especially when it's just to bitch at someone.

OPie, NS, Bones, if you think someone is trolling, ignore them and they will go away, arguing with someone will only take the thread off the initial topic and fill it with garbage.

WmW, [-X

Nate, Well said and thanks for trying to pull the thread back on topic :)

For the record, TeamCC has 23 members (5 have no medals, including all admins...yes, we just suck that much :( )
So for the other 18 who do have, we have a total of 198 (including maps and tournaments) giving us an average of exactly 11 per member...

Do we win a prize? :)
Retired.

twill, you guys have medals, you just need to win a game sometime to get them! just checking your stats quickly, you have enough for the silver medal in the first category, as do lack and andy. so get off your lazy bums and win a game already.

That sounds about right, since freemiums can only play 4 games at a time, and medals are as much an indication of how many games you've played, as anything else.

Optimus Prime wrote:So, we have all these fancy-schmancy medals flying around the site these days, and so someone in Generation One thought that perhaps somebody should take the time to do a comparison between clans on who has the most. Well, that seems like an interesting thing, given that not long ago there was a brief discussion on who had the most active clan forums.

So, Generation One (with 28 current members) holds 299 total medals as of this moment.

We'll make ourselves a Top 10 with the average per member of the clan as the determining factor. :)

1. Phoenix Warlords - 182 Total = 12.13 per member average
2. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse - 199 Total = 11.70 per member average
3. Generation One - 299 Total = 11.50 per member average
4.
5. The Dynahackers - 153 Total = 6.12 per member average
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

nice idea OP
