Really enjoying all your various suggestions. Some of them are crazier than others
A couple of threads that you might find interesting to look at:
First up AI Players has been rejected before, but since that was a long time ago (and given the rejection reason in the first post) perhaps it's time has come ...
Second of all see Infected Neutrals which has been marked as To Do ... there are elements there that overlap with your suggestion.
And on a general note Androidz it would help if you named your posts to match the suggestion you are making - this one for example would be much better as "Artificial Intelligence players" or "AI Bots" or whatever ...
Hmm if we could save other AI Bots as files or something to play them to train would be cool. And yeah ofc as i mentioned in the post if you join your own bot the game will be a Unranked game. and the deatbeat player both will replace him with same effects love your idea cicero your official my new suggestion m8:Dcicero wrote:I think that if AI bots were to be implemented at all it would have to be in a creative, competitive way ...
Lack could create a basic AI engine to accept coded intelligence routines so that each of us would be able to make an attempt at our own AI bot. At any time, within my profile say, I could type or paste in my own intelligence routine which would program my bot. That routine would be used in all my bot-games.
Our intelligence routines would include elements to decide if/when to attack, how long to continue if the dice were bad, when to cash sets, when to attempt eliminations etc ... Possibly our intelligence routines would need to be written in some existing language that Lack could then "plug in" in the appropriate place when it was your bot's turn.
Each member would be allowed one bot. So, in my case, there'd be "cicero" (ie me) and "cicero-bot" (my bot).
As a player I can enter my bot into a game just as I can enter myself into a game. Of course there'd have to be the option for "no-bots" games, there could be tournaments open to bots only, bots v humans as you suggest ...
Sadly you wouldn't be able to join yourself and entering your bot in the same game (since you'd be able to help your bot win). It would be cool to have bots winning their own points and climbing the scoreboard independently of their owners.
I do think though that that is a whole other website, not just an option in this one
