Never use AIM or other programs like it. If you wanted to help her out with her trig homework you should have invited her to a coffee shop and studied/talked there. If that wasn't possible you could have rang her. The thing i hate about messenger programs and texts is that words can easily be taken out of context, as has happened with you on a few occasions, i dont think you meant to sound so desperate, and im sure you wouldn't have sounded that bad if you were talking to her in person.
