What program do you need to make maps?

Is it possible for the average joe to make a map?=

If the average joe wants to learn to use a graphics program like Photoshop, GIMP, paint.net, etc., then sure.

If you want to learn a program without spending a few hundred dollars on Photoshop, I recommend GIMP, which is not as good, but is free. Just google it and you'll find the download link and some nice tutorials.

You need CC Map Maker Pro 8. And you need the Premier edition if you don't want pixelated borders.

If you have a working image, you post it in the Drafting Room subforum and wait for the foundry regulars to tell you what aspects of it to change.

If you just have an idea, post it in the ideas forum for someone else to do the graphics on.

Hey Llama,

Anyone and everyone can make a map. For the basics you should start by reading the "How to make a map handbook."

Then you'll want to start a new post topic in the Drafting Room.

You can use GIMP, Photoshop (there are many different ones), paint.net, Fireworks.... the list may be quite long, but those are the only ones I can think of
