Btw., I don't use clicky. Trust me when I say, ...if I did, I would swim around you in circles.Fruitcake wrote:Whilst I would work harder and still ultimately beat you.MOBAJOBG wrote:If I aspire to strike gold in the Olympics as a swimmer, I'd better get myself a speedo swim suit.
Kudos to you then Mobby me old mate...that's what we need....more grafters showing the way!!MOBAJOBG wrote:Btw., I don't use clicky.Fruitcake wrote:Whilst I would work harder and still ultimately beat you.MOBAJOBG wrote:If I aspire to strike gold in the Olympics as a swimmer, I'd better get myself a speedo swim suit.
Not sure which map you were playing Code but SIberia to China isn't 4 terr's away. For that matter, I'm not sure which game you were playing as you were dead- no kills would've given you an edge. I beat you on a regular basis before I installed CM- the only difference now is that you lose faster. A bit of advice- when there's a kill, drop your armies don't sit and wait for a sneak attack.codeblue1018 wrote:Ramned wrote:I am no longer going to argue for my post, I will let the community make with it. Clicky maps are definitely a legal form of cheating. I would rather lose points then use the script to win. There are several "high ranked" players on this site who use it now in order to be "competitive" hence the reason for such high scores. People can argue that this isn't the case but we all know it is.
Have the top 10 players that use clicky maps delete the script and you will see a drastic drop in points, guaranteed. Not taking anything away from their skill, they just cannot compete with others that do use it.
Take Scott-land for example, great player, knows the game, however, he wouldn't have the points he's earned without clicky as well as others in the top 10. I played in a game with Scott-land yesterday, he dropped his men as did I, I thought I had plenty of time; as he attacked his first country, i attempted to attack. He was 4 territories away from my stack, as I hit attack, my men were gone.
Get rid of this ridiculous script! Another fine addition to this site from Lack; well done!
Maybe you went China->Mong->Irk->Kam->Yak and then Siberia?Scott-Land wrote:Not sure which map you were playing Code but SIberia to China isn't 4 terr's away. Wow, how the arrogance has grown. We aren't disputing the fact that you beat me on a "regular basis" Scott, lol. We are talking about why top ranked players are using it. Without cm, you would not be anywhere close to the points you've attained to date, we both know this so now we can stop talking about it.Scott-Land wrote:Not sure which map you were playing Code but SIberia to China isn't 4 terr's away. ps: I was in the top 5 before I installed CM
Can you imagine where my score/rank would be if I had used it when Poo, Skiller, Fble, etc etc 5 months ago? THROUGH THE ROOFcodeblue1018 wrote: I have a great idea, since you were in the top 5 previously without cm, why not disable it and play as you used to. I'm betting that will never happen as expected.
i AM NOT going to change my game style to avoid these.BaldAdonis wrote:Play sequential and you won't have to deal with it.
Couldn't agree more. Rid this ridiculous script!Ramned wrote:i AM NOT going to change my game style to avoid these.BaldAdonis wrote:Play sequential and you won't have to deal with it.
NOBODY HAS DEFENDED CLICKMAPS.LACKATTACK PLEASE CONSIDER THIS.
I am going to try to gather a petition to make get rid of clickmaps. Just read this thread. Obviously the Silent Majority has been more clear and reasonable than those MINORITIES who use clickmaps, who have yet to defend their cause. I sure hope they're squashed, damn that will squash the leaderboard. I bet 1 out of 2 on the top 50 use them. While about 1 of 7 2000+ and probably 1 of 50 on the site altogether.
Anyways, I will gather a petition.
No, not everyone can get it. I am not sure why I cant I believe it is because I use internet explorer. But several have told that they cannot even download it. And spreading the news to get EVERY SINGLE person to use it isnt worth it. As I said before, click map users are a minority on this site.edbeard wrote:I'm really not sure what Lack can do about it since it's a script and he had nothing to do with creating it.
Also, everyone has the ability to get it (except, apparently, Ramned who for some unnamed reason is not able to download the script). I do think some advertising would be good for all scripts. With the new headlines thing that'd be a lot easier to say check out these useful scripts. Or, send a PM to anyone who plays a freestyle game (only after their first one (including people who've played hundreds of freestyle)) so they know it exists.
The script just changes the interface. It happens to be very efficient and useful for certain game types. There's nothing wrong with advancement. Everyone can get it (except Ramned) so there's nothing wrong with it. Just make sure everyone knows about it.
Many people have, you're just too dense to see it, it appears.Ramned wrote:i AM NOT going to change my game style to avoid these.BaldAdonis wrote:Play sequential and you won't have to deal with it.

The problem isn't freestyle- the problem are 1 vs 1 games. Point dumping to creating new accounts to jacking your rank up by beating up guys that have no idea how to play- they join because they can take their turns more frequently. You remove this game type and the bottom will drop out from many of the so called ' top players'. It's simply noob farming. If you want to blame as most of the players do on this site- blame that game type.

A second, even more annoying aspect of clickable maps is those people that think that they can out-pace anyone before they cash. I'm sick of noobs running over half of my stacks because they think that they are fast enough to take around 5 terr's before someone cashes. Had a moron do that to me yesterday, and he acted as if he had made a legitimate move. Fucking tossers.

I'm pretty sure greasemonkey is a firefox only thing (or it was anyway). firefox is free and it doesn't explode like explorer. It's a better overall browser. Free to anyone. just download it and you'll be able to get the script.Ramned wrote:

One way to rid this erroneous script is to make it a bannable offense. PM the site users and give plenty of time's warning. Close the thread that contains the download / script.
Its not fair though. Furthermore, why should people be forced to download "firefox" and then download clickable maps!!!edbeard wrote:I'm pretty sure greasemonkey is a firefox only thing (or it was anyway). firefox is free and it doesn't explode like explorer. Start spreading the news (do do do do do do do do do do)...it IS worth it because it's quite a good script since it makes play faster and easier than drop down menus.
Making it a bannable offense is a ludicrous idea. How do you prove someone is using it? You can't. You can only speculate. It's open to everyone so complaining about how it is unfair is illogical. This thing gives people an advantage and I can get it but I don't want to so lets ban people that do use it. That's a very stupid idea. It just is. I'm not flaming you. It's just a horrible idea with hardly any thought behind it (or at least not sensible thought).
btw, I don't even use this script (I don't play freestyle).
Ah ha! now this is a good defending post.Ditocoaf wrote:The following is a defense of clickable maps.
In every other game but Freestlye, clickable maps gives no advantage to the user. In a normal, sensible Sequential game, clickable maps simply makes it more convenient, and less annoying, to control the game. I love having this option, and it gives me no unfair advantage. You wish to ban this because it gives someone an unfair advantage in Freestlye. You forget that a lot of things give someone an unfair advantage in Freestyle. Better internet speed is a huge advantage; unlimited free time is another huge advantage. The game type itself is horribly flawed. So why should we remove something that is nice, and harmless, in other game styles, just to fix PART of a problem with a flawed game style?. I don't play freestlye anymore--clickable maps isn't cheating for me--so don't tell me that I'm not allowed to use this.
