Replacements in Real Time Games *Rejected*

Post by Simon Toad »

It seems to this little black duck that having the capacity to replace a player in an RT game would be a good thing. As a Premium member, I would love to have that capacity on private games I create. If a player fails to take a turn in 10 minutes, he is liable to be booted and a replacement player recruited from Gabbly - it would make RT much better.

yeah, thats kinda been asked for before...the problem is you could boot the person who is doing best, and replace him or her with a bad player so you win

But surely that's a hollow objection - it's the online equivalent of grabbing the board and throwing it in the air! Surely we could simply report that blatant cheating to the site managers to have the game declared void, or the person banned, like we do with multi account holders.

I don't think any of the moderators would be interested in combing through game logs to decide if the game creator acted in good faith.

Also your score reflect your skill in playing from start to finish, what if a replacement comes in at the end with a weak position. Not fair to loose all those points.

I for one do not like this idea.
