Quenched Maps

Post by ParadiceCity9 »

How long is it usually before they're put up for play?
This batch seems to be taking a while...

I'm going to guess that it won't be done until lack gets back from Croatia.

Or Q&A
i doubt that the dudes in Q&A could answer this better than the boys in the foundry... or, if paradice knew any of the map dudes, he could just PM them...-0

it usually takes time, but since now lack has said that theyll be throwing up the maps 1 by 1 as they finish, i too was wondering why not on a few of these that have been waiting, will be nice when we get 1 new map every few weeks, instead of big bundles every few months.

If you visit the foundry you'll find that they are working on a new XML checker and then will put up the maps. Or summat like that

xml checker needs to be implemented so there aren't a bunch of mess-ups in gameplay before this new batch comes out

all I know is that if Lack is going to do one map per day, that'd be quite stupid.

Did Iceland set a record for number of days quenched before uploaded?

yea. I'm not even going to look it up as I've done in the past. It was like 2 weeks at most before this.

Bloody hell...Luxembourg was quenched nearly two months ago...I hope it doesn't take another month to go live because that wouldn't make sense!

I would also like the now 2-3 month old maps to lose the NEW tag since they aren't new anymore. ;)

Nice to see Iceland up finally though.

I agree. It would be less confusing about what is new this time around.
I hope it doesn't take too long. I'd like to get an Egypt Quadtych tournie started. :)

Press F5 ;)

I think High Seas is next though.

that's what I'm seeing also. Looks like it's hard to type in comments where to fort, if you don't have those keys on your keyboard ! I'm sure people will visit the thread and moan and complain, but they'll just have to get over it!

i'm thinking the strategy behind this uploading one new map at a time is so that the server doesn't get overloaded with new game creation.

Imagine what would happen if the entire load of this batch were uploaded at once. ;)

On the other hand, imagine the riots that will ensue if I don't get to play High Seas and Lower Egypt in the next few days

I'm pressing F5 but nothing happens! :p

If they have to follow a pattern I think they should base it on the date when the map was quenched. I'd like to see a new map introduced tomorrow.
