Tiny Cube

Post by Winged Cat »

Thinking about the smallest possible map that might present an interesting (if minimal) game...I present a projection of a cube.

Image

People get 2 armies per turn (so, territory adjustment -1), plus 1 for each pair of opposite sides (Up/Down, Left/Right, or Front/Back) controlled.

Symmetrical, yeah, but hard to get away from that at this size without unbalancing things. Besides, any serious deadlock would probably be inherently open to attack, and thus not a deadlock.

And, yes, tiny cube is tiny. That's the point. ;)

So, your take on it, anyone?

I don't see a cube there.

It's a projection, much like the standard map is a projection of a sphere. The up and down faces are rather distorted; the other faces, not so much (and the map wraps around left-to-right).
