'ignore all cooks' really isn't a fair statement. I had a horrible losing streak for awhile, and I became a cook (oh man!). It took awhile, but now I'm rising up again. I don't see any reason to ignore someone because of their rank.
I myself am coming dangerously close to cook (not there yet, but just wait for a few more games), and although I don't necessarily have the best strategy, I at least play a fair clean game, like most other people around this rank. I really don't think it would be right to stereotype all of the cooks off of the few bad ones. but what do I know? I am just a cadet

A few weeks ago I was a stuck as a cook and couldn't get promoted Now I'm a Lieutenant I didn't have anyone teach me, but I think that even the lowest ranking cooks have the chance to go much higher. It just took me a while to get the grasp of the game I guess. Teaching cooks could be a good idea: if anyone has the time and/or effort required.
At least a cook has played a few games and will probably take their turns. (have pity on me, if I don't get some wins soon I'm heading cookwards myslef!)
