I do not believe that anything is hidden. I do believe in this instance, we are being told the truth.

That does not mean that conspiracies do not exist, or that I do not believe in any. I do believe that American Media IN SOME capacity works for our government. I believe the same of the BBC in England.
I also believe that terrorism is made up to scare people, for votes, for money, for power, for whatever. The Department of Homeland Security has a billion dollar budget, but has never caught a terrorist.

Actually, those are the only conspiracies I really subscribe to right now. But neither has anything to do whith what I was talking about. Nor do I see how they make me a conspiracy theorist.

As far as the Amero conspiracy goes, I do not believe in it. Of the two woman who came forward, one of them has since confessed that they made it all up to become famous. Case closed.
And as far as 9-11, the jury is still out. I've actually been on the fence about that one for a loooong time, but no one ever took the other side, so.... But yes, I'm on the fence. I just watched Truth Rising, and that film had some suprising witnessess.

Man walked on the moon, aliens do not visit us, RFID is not 666, the North American Union was just an idea thought up at a college level think-tank, there is no "new world order", Elvis is dead, vaccines are not used to randomly give people cancer, chem-trail what?, the US does not have an Earthquake machine, nor do we have a hurricane machine, I can't even think of any more.

Certainly. First, permit me to establish some basic definitions.

conspiracy theory
1. a theory that explains an event as being the result of a plot by a covert group or organization; a belief that a particular unexplained event was caused by such a group.
2. the idea that many important political events or economic and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public.

Conspiracy theorist is listed only as a derivative of conspiracy theory, meaning it can reasonably be defined as "one who believes in the factual nature of a conspiracy theory."

Definitions having been established, let's proceed first to the general notion that Juan_Bottom is not a conspiracy theorist.

Having admitted belief in the factual nature of secret plots (terrorism being a particularly good - or bad - example) which remain largely unknown to the general public, you are an admitted conspiracy theorist. Just because you don't believe in some of the more obviously ridiculous conspiracies out there doesn't mean you're not a conspiracy theorist. (Note: this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Many conspiracy theorists have been right. I'm a conspiracy theorist myself... I think Iran and Russia were/are planning to give Iran the Bomb. You don't have to be defensive about it. But you certainly are a conspiracy theorist.)

I was referring to this instance, although (according to Juan, anyway) there are other instances available. For this instance, let's revisit Juan's earlier quote.

By a secret plot, unknown to the general public? That would make this an unexplained event resulting from a plot by a covert group or organization, yes? Granted, the original comments, if I remember correctly, weren't quite so accusatory... it was all innuendo, which is why I was mostly kidding about Juan being a conspiracy theorist. But given his commentary in this thread... need I really explain further?
