It's been a little slow around here recently. I guess it's the season.

apart from mibi retiring from mapmaking and DiM returning to hang out with us again, nothing much has changed.

actually a lot has changed.
there's more spam than ever there's less constructive feedback than ever, the change in subforums failed miserably as i still see gorgeous maps in ideas and stupid/abandoned/vacationed/going nowhere maps in the main foundry.

i firmly beleive the foundry needs immediate attention from whoever is entitled to do it and has to be resurrected somehow.
tighter rules, more warnings for spam, bring back some people that stopped coming here but are still active, etc.
i don't know exactly what will make the foundry become the well oiled mechanism that it used to be but something really needs to be done.

I have to agree with much of this. There is (in my opinion) to much spam now, not enough constructive feedback, people whose maps are not ready to be moved are getting moved, and peoples maps who are ready to be moved (or given stamps) are not getting them or getting moved.

it (in my opinion) seems that the mods (gimil, andy, oak, etc) havent been doing enough lately and leaving alot of the work to MrBenn.

eh im getting my thoughts jumbled up now, and for some reason i suddenly want a banana #-o

maybe when my thoughts are all unjumbled ill say more

it may also be because school has started for many of the people who are using the site... but updates are few and far between, and even if they are updated, its so minuscule that it doesn't matter

Yeah, I can attest to that. Both gimil and I have moved and started school back up in the past month, so I admit it has taken a toll. But I'm back! :D

Foundry participation definitely comes in waves - when the mapmakers and CAs are active, there are more comments from random visitors. And if there are no comments coming in from the community, work slows and the mapmakers don't update as often. We need both to keep things interesting, so if either suffers the entire system slows down.
