Either make the image more doodle-like or change the name. Doodle Earth is called doodle because it is a simple image that a kid could have drawn with crayon. This map isn't doodle-like at all. The only thing similar between this and doodle is the small size.
2. The title text:
All your text in the title is behind the terrain layer, meaning that the terrain covers over part of it. that is bad, cause the text is obscured and should be shown completely, so no one is confused (and it would look better)
3. Terrain textures:
Whatever you are using (brushes or clone stamp, I'm not sure) .... stop. The effect looks very bad with the same pattern repeated over and over (especially noticable in the bottom right island). Also, the texture in the bottom left is very repated and it just doesn't work too well...
4. Water:
Please change it. It doesn't fit the map at all, in my opinion. the water should at the very least be either a solid color, a solid pattern, or painted to fit the terrain. The seemingly random swirls of light and dark looks very...fake...and doesn't help the map visually. I'm not sure what kind of feel you are aiming for, but I'd prefer to see it painted by hand to fit the terrain, instead of just being a seperate layer.
5. Territory names:
I'd prefer if all the names were located at the same position on each territory. Some names are at the top of the territory, others are at the bottom, I'd like it better if they were all the same.
6. Border lines:
Please use thinner borders than the ones you have now. These borders are too thick and take away from the rest of the image. Preferably in a darker color, also, cause the yellow doesn't work visually with the rest of the map.
Sorry to say, but I'm not a big fan of this map in its current state. If the graphics are improved and the name is changed, I would probably like it more. It just isn't working for me right now.
I'd stay away from the doodle theme unless you actually asked dimwit (Doodle Earth's creator) if he doesn't mind you using that theme. Furthermore, it seems very unimaginative to use that theme for another small map because it'd feel like a gimmick theme. basically get your own theme for your own map.
I, like others, don't see the need for another map like this but if you're going to do it, you have to do it right. I agree with probably all of what wca said.
