Something bad had happened. The one that the dogs called the Ever Loving Perfect Master, or the cats called Slightly Trained Feeding machine, the birds called him the Sorcerer, Changer of water and creator of food, the rodents either call him Slaver and Imprisoner or Loving and Caring Master depending on when was the last time food was given and grass changed. The pets however had a common name for him: Hooman. Except yesterday he left. And he didn't come back in the morning. By evening next day, even the dogs were worried. Late at night someone stumbled into the house. It was a Hooman, but not the Human. He stumbled about, walking most weirdly. He held some kind of bottle in his hand. All the animals set their sights on him as he went to the Place of Feeding. He got out one massive bag and by then everyone was drooling. He tried to open. He failed. He tried again. HE failed again. On the third time he opened it. Except he ripped it and all the contents spilled over the floor. The Hooman stood up and considering it a job done, walked out. The pets stared at the mountain of food before them. If not for the elders there would've been a fight for it there and then. But the elders agreed to divide it fairly among everyone, knowing unlike the juniors that the Hooman might be gone for a long time. They divided and ate it and then went to sleep.
But horror of horrors there was much less food in the morning. And after the third morning the naimlas had enough proof that some of the pets were stealing food during the night. But who?
