posting a map draft....

Post by JrFan88 »

Hey all;

I'd like to post the first rendering of a map of California for consideration. Being new at this, I have no idea how to attach the image to a post. So for right now I'd like the Complete Idiot's Guide to Attaching an Image. Any takers?

Upload the image to Photobucket, but save it as a JPEG, then copy the direct link they give you into the post, highlight and press Img or BigImg depending on the size ;)

This thread has lots of useful forum info. I suggest reading it, especially the "Posting Pictures" section.

Just remember to use [bigimg] tags instead of regular [img] tags, or else your map image might be too big for the page. using [bigimg] makes it easier for everyone.

Thank you, too!!! Perhaps you'll be so kind as to review my humble offering? I'll need help with the details, XMl and the like, so any feedback will be appreciated.

I suggest .png instead .jpg, but others will vouch for .jpg's...

Props to our own Oaktown for his LA Map. It's on vacation at the moment, and the map I posted is not his most recent. It's sure to be a favorite though when it's back in development.

wait, what's that doing here! :lol:

I'm not sure I'll ever get that map to play or look right, which is why it was "vacationed." Looking back, the only elements I like are the Title and the large mountains in the background. The rest, well, bleh.

wtsallw,
Welcome to the Foundry. I've moved your post into a more relevant thread, that may answer some of your initial questions. The mapmakers handbook is always a good place to start ;-)
