No, I find it offensive that I see people like that everyday, and think that homeless people who look funny, I just thought that it's not that cool to make fools of people less fortunate than others, no matter how amusing it may be. Seriously, put yourself in that person's shoes, did the camera man say "I'll give you five bucks if I can take your picture to put on a website"? And of course the peson with no money, no life, bad health and no where to live takes what they can get. I wasn't saying it to be made fun of MrConfigT, I was completely serious, and apparently my feelings do not matter.

Well, I took it as an attack towards me.

Sorry.

But on the subject. I see homless people every day too. I help them out when I can. I have also put countless hours of voulenteering, including driving to shelters and soup kitchens.

Usually I bring food or a gift card to them instead of giving them cash, as I've seen people take my money straight to the gas station to buy a 40. I've also had people not accept food or gift cards and said they only want cash.

There was an interview on the news with an unnamed "homeless family" which brings in around $40k a year on the streets. He was proud of what he was doing. So think what you want. If they wanted to become unhomeless, they can. If they want to pose for a picture on the internet for $5 they can. its their choice.

I don't think that's quite true... There are lots of things keeping people from becoming "unhomeless"... addiction, lack of anything to start from... most jobs require at least an address... Lack of legal employment rights etc.

Addiction - There's free clinics which provide help for that.

And as far as anything to start from having an address and what not, there are halfway homes and such that you can use for an address and to get you on your feet. ITs all about motivation and if the homeless are motivated to stay homeless they will, if they're motivated to become unhomeless they will try to become unhomeless.

I don't really want to get into a discussion in the matter as all I was trying to do was post a picture with a comment.

Bottom line is that those who want to be helped can find help.

Truer words were never spoken...

And this thread was really funny until it turned into a moral debate.
