why are you reluctant to get a claim? are you protecting william? the goal here is get a claim not lynch just for the lols, and i think if you had the town best interests at heart you could realize that... is not like the guy is lynch -1 FOS jnd
What you dont get is that claim is a kill. Do you think there are enough docs to cover this plan?? We can't have everybody claim, and hope a roleblocker and doc get things right. I'm just thinking realistically, having 2 people claim will hurt us later.

what you dont realize, is that if we follow your faulty logic we wont hunt scum, i seriously beliave you are trying to protect your scum buddy, or you couldnt be this pushy about someone who hasnt even bothered to claim.

I'd tend to agree with Jnd here, bandwagon ad aeternum to get as many claims as possible is not only counterproductive in the first days, it helps scum more than anything. However right now the outed townies don't really have vital roles, so... Then again, if I remember well in Deadwood 3 townies had to claim day 1 which was fucking long, and town managed to pull it off in the end regardless.

In any case, considering claim as a last resort defense and not a first, the important as pressure is applied on someone is to see his primary reaction and defense. Right now about Will, it doesn't look good to me.

We had several wagons that came close enough to a lynch or to the lynch (although Mandy played poorly and should have been replaced if he didn't feel like playing); the question is not about whether or not you had the ability to know they were all town (which you actually would have if you are scum), the issue is how you were willing to get any of these town persons lynched for little reason. Of course, several people are guilty of this; but the others actually provided reasoning, explanation or at least the excuse of being Cena (:P) during the previous day. You didn't do any of those. I don't see why not applying pressure to you first then.

Seeing as scum doesn't get any new info but town does I don't fully agree but yes, too many bandwagons/claims is not a good thing.

True, so my vote stays with will

So that's a no then. Good to know.

I don't expect you to be psychic but some reasoning/thought would have been good.

I guess I'll just claim.

Im Uncle Iroh, a cop.My character himself was the general of the fire nation, but now since im was exiled, I wish to use my knowledge of the fire nations army ranks , and out the people who are involved in the Fire Lords scemes. I investigated F1fth and got him as non-fire nation. I think my charecter can only get the results non fire nation, or pro fire nation. I guess my info might be flawed when investigating certain charectars since they could have joined the fire nation after my exile.

This seems a little premature. I really wish you hadn't done that, atleast not yet. With 5 votes and 9 to lynch, you had time. :?

it sounds a bit too overcomplex for be true, you might be bullshitting your way through the role, but the character, if not counterclaimed should make you townie, since uncle iroh was indeed one of the main characters and one that made more good than bad to town, at least at the end of the serie, but i wont unvote you just yet, ill allow some time for counterclaiming.

Yeah, that is WAY too complicated, considering the pure simplicity of my role, and for that reason, I vote wiliam

well i would have expected iroh to be more of a third party character, because his only allegiance is to zuko... or maybe zuko (and with him iroh) is fire nation/scum to begin with and some event triggers him to become town and then iroh will become town as well.
this could well be one of the safe-claims given to scum... not actually a different claim, but a different interpretation of the character.

but the general idea seems believable.

Yes, but there doesn't seem to be much to your role... :/

Yeah, don't forget roleblocker is very simple. The fact that my investigation said non-fire nation pretty much says I can only tell a person from fire nation or town. And by me overlooking charcters means that if their 3rd party, I might still classify them as town, so I guess im not as precise. These are just speculations of my role since it seems to be altered for flavor of irohs exilation(is that a word?) so im not quite sure about my roles abilities and potential after just the first night.

Well william, i watched the serie, and i must agree with these points in daydream's argument, yours could very well be a fake claim; and it does seem unnecessarily complex; as far as logic and the plot dictates, not every bad guy could come from the fire nation, some come from the earth nation, like the dai-li (or however is spelt), so i think make a cop with this kind of limitation is quite ridiculous, which leads me to believe in 3 options, and in all of them you are a liar:

1.- best case scenario, you are town, but you dont want to let your role away as mean of protect yourself, of course this is stupid, because who the f*ck out themselves as cop for protect themselves if town... as scum makes a lot more of sense, because townies could be afraid of lynch you, but then you could make yourself prime target for NK therefore you are scum.

2.- you are scum and you got a safe claim, since Iroh is a light hearted character that gains the sympathy of pretty much everyone, despite being willing to kill whoever for his nephew's sake.

3.- you didnt lie about your character, but you did lie about your alignment, because you are third party, since as daydream well put it, your only care for 2 things in life, first for zuko, and second for tea :P none of those make you a paladin of justice.

While I agree Iroh being a cop sounds way weird, it wouldn't be the first role that doesn't fit either. I don't think he can be third party, as it would make no sense to claim cop then.
We're left with two options basically. He's telling the truth, or he's scum. Iroh as a fakeclaim is possible, but all in all I find that in these true cop/fake cop matters it is best to leave it at that; we don't want to lynch a town cop by mistake. If he's lying, odds are there is then a real town cop that can check it out or something.

That makes sense, since roleblocker is not a role I would picture Toph as either. But I'm hesitant to completely let him get off the hook with an awkward claim like that. I feel that the appropriate solution, as ga7 said, is with investigative roles given the risk of losing a cop if we lynch him.

Also, just a thought: do you think Iroh might be one of Aang's firebending teachers? I know he didn't teach him in the series, but he did know firebending, he did guide some people in Aang's group, and if that theory that Aang gains the power of the teacher, then that might be where he would get cop.

Order of the White Lotus would make a nice mason group....

Anyway Iroh never taught Aang firebending. Only Zuko, dragons (unlikely), and that firebending master guy (also unlikely as that was only for one episode).

Pakku taught Katara and katara taught Aang.

Toph taught aang (already visited).

Monk G-something taught airbending, but i doubt that would be a visited teacher.

The way it fits to me is Aang would start off as a cop (airbending skill). earth for roleblocking. Water for doc (healing water that Katara had) and fire for vig (makes most sense). That's all of the JoaT's powers. there could be another cop but Iroh just doesnt make sense as one. I would make Iroh sibling with the fire lord because that's what they are in the show.

Sorry, I have missed some.

So Will claims Iroh? I'd consider him one of the top characters so I don't see this game without him, so unless someone counter claims then I must assume Will is truthful in that respect. As for whether Iroh could be scum or not... he was a big part in Zuko's 'finding himself' and was against the many bad things Zuko did. I really don't see him being made into a scum role.
Though personally, I don't think I'd make him into a cop type role. :?

I don't think we should risk anything. I mean, if his claim is true and we lynch him, that's a pretty important role down the drain.

How would airbending work for investigation, though?
