Suggestion regarding getting rid of multis.

Post by Tarzanchuck »

So, I've only been on for about a week now, but I've already paid my premium membership. Likewise, I also caught a multi (pending). I've been checking the board there and multis come up ALOT obviously.

So here's my question, and let me know if this has come up before.

What if only those people who had the premium membership could play in games that were ranked? Let normal members still play each other, but you have to have a premium membership in order to rank up.

This would stop most people from running multis to go up in the polls and to up their ranks, because they'd have to pay another $20 in order to run a multi. It'd probably be easier to spot the multis too, since you'd have a smaller pool of people ranking up.

Just have a different section for ranked games, still let regular members play for free. That way, there's also more incentive for people to pay the $20, as that's the only way they'll get to rank.

Comments?

yeah, but the premium members would make free accounts still, and use them to rank themselves up...and its not fair making people who like the game, but can't afford it not be able to rank up, when they are good players who have high ranks

i disagree on the whole, as this is meant to be a free site , it takes away just that

you might say its just all about the game , and it is but you still want something to gauge your games by.Not everyone is able/willing to pay premium(i have btw) and if you take away the rankings you take away a lot of users, you lose a lot of the forum imho and you lose the basic community this site has.

i play games with friends and yeah you get kudos by beating them into a pulp but you dont get that with strangers so i believe the ranking has to stay and another way to deal with multis is needed

while i like the idea of getting rid of potential deadbeats and possibly multis, i must agree that this is a free site. those of us who do choose to support Lackattack and pay the $20 get enough of a bonus with being able to play unlimited games. creating two scoring systems would only divide the conquer community.

That's the point. You have two different sections. Those games that are ranked, which is for people who pay for the premium account, and the unranked section where everyone can play. You can't play non-premium characters in the ranked section, but you could still play non-premium people and friends in the other section.

I don't think lack is in favor of splitting everyone up, we like the community feel.

its not fair to the non-premiums to not get to rank up...some people just can't afford it (or so they say) and there is only so many be AB can give to people..its just not fair...and i'm premium, just so you know

I understand that. Being a NOOB to the site, I can see why the feeling is that way. Thanks!

Forget about premium membership being the divider - you could add an optional choice when making the game to let everyone in, or make it to only allow players of a certain score or above.
Most multi feeders don't operate a high scoring multi. Therefore to cheat after this idea, they would have to play so many accounts, to keep all multi accounts at a certain level - they would go mad in the process.

Or they could just play among itself to get around it.
