It's ok for a teammate, or anyone else who is not an opponent of yours and you trust with access to your account, to take your turns occassionally as needed.

I know.
But it would be great if a checkbox beside your teammates names would enable them to play for you in only that game, not giving them full access to the account.

hmm... I can see people possibly abusing this in freestyle team games, but I'm curious to hear what others think. :-k

I'd rather implement a skip turn / vacation button so people won't have to wait for you.

Ohh yes very nice - although will it deadbeat you after 3 turns? Or would you allow people to return on it.

Would this add your 3 armies to a random country held by you?

I was thinking it would multiply your armies when you get back, up to 3x.

The potential for abuse exists, but I think this is doable. Checkmarks next to trusted teammates may be allowed, or even....oh, this is brilliant....

....You could have a list of "trusted allies" on your profile. If you are not around for a player-set ammount of time to take a turn, these trusted allies are alerted, and one of them may jump in to take your turn for you. Some of these "trusted allies" could be computer controls: "Kamikaze" would always attack, "Turtle" would always cautiously reinforce, "General Malaise" would play "normally", et cetera....
